Advantages: Multiplayer Mode is Good

Disadvantages: Missions are lacking

I was lucky enough to be able to purchase this game on Special Offer for only £5!! When it arrived I couldn't wait to install and play the game. It is basically a command and conquer style game but set in the Star Trek universe. There are two 'modes' of playing the game - missions or multiplayer (which also includes single player vs CPU opponents). You can play as any one of the four major Races in the game - Federation, Klingon, Romulin or Borg.
I was a little disappointed with the missions mode as you have to complete the Federation missions before you can move onto the Klingon missions and then complete these before you can move onto the Romulin/Borg missions. There were not too many missions to complete in the Federation section and I found these very easy to complete.
The Multiplayer option is my personal favourite. You can choose which race you want to be and setup various computer opponents. They can even be grouped into teams. This mode of play allows you to start with a small fleet and build a larger one using resources available to you. In order to build ships/stations/shipyards etc you need Dilithium. You get Dilithium by mining Dilithium moons in a very similar way to the Harvester in Command and Conquer. When you have enough Dilithium you can build various things depending on what you have available to you. You can build more stations, upgrade you station, build Basic Shipyards, Upgrade Centres, Research Facilities, Advanced Shipyards, various ships depending on which shipyards you have already built.
If you are the Borg then you get the option to assimlate other races ships or facilities.
Overall I find the game a fun game to play but only really in Multiplayer mode. I would recommend it to anybody who likes Command and Conquer style games because although it is similar to most of these type of games it has the extra appeal of being set in space!!
