Faithful renditions of familiar environments and characters only add to the feeling that the player is part of an expansive universe. The only real downside to the game is the multiplayer mode. Whilst all the usual culprits are there (deathmatch, capture the flag etc), the environments and weaponry don't really lend themselves to the ki...more

Premium Review Star Trek Voyager - Elite Force 2 (PC): SHOCK - A GOOD STAR TREK GAME! (241 words)

Rating:

Any real fan of Star Trek (Movies or TV series) will openly admit that quality game tie-ins have been few and far between. That said, Elite Force was a solid (if not perfect) addition to a slim catalogue, and with this sequel, Activision have built on that solid foundation to produce a game that ranks as slightly better than the original. After surviving the dangers of the Delta Quadrant in "Star Trek: Elite Force", Alex Munro is disappointed to learn that Starfleet has no further use for the Hazard Team. He's been assigned a position at Starfleet Academy, teaching students until Jean-Luc Picard, who likes the idea of a hazard team, reassigns him to the new Enterprise E. Almost immediately, the Enterprise receives a distress signal from the USS Dallas. Investigating this incident leads the Enterprise and the Hazard Team to an outpost of a civilisation who has recently applied for membership to the Federation. They've recently come under attack from a previously unseen life form. It's ...  Read the complete review
