Advantages: interesting "twist," many different multiplayer games and maps

Disadvantages: a LOT like AOE, hard to manage troops due to "twist"

Blizzard has done it again. This latest development of real time strategy from the House of Blizzard has futuristic twist, but in itself is very similar to Microsoft's Age of Empires.

Starcraft has a multiplayer side just as AoE does. To play via the internet you can only play on Battle.net. There are a good many different types of multiplayer game types, and you can easily download new maps. Along with being alike in multiplayer games it is also similar in interface, but with a different twist.

This twist is the allowance of only selecting 12 units at a time. This "cap" makes it more difficult for you rushers that like to use lots of units at a time. Sorry! But during battle, it can be hard to manage your troops. However you can assign hotkeys to easy the pain of selecting units.

Starcraft may not do anything particularly new, but it does stand up to be one of the best real time strategy games. If you like collecting games, this is a must for your RTS collection.
