Disadvantages: you won't be able to move from the computer
I have had this game for around two years, and I still play it all the time! there is almost nothing more enjoyable on the PC in the God games genre than crushing your foe in this (maybe total annihilation kingdoms). With 30 in depth and challenging misiions that unfold an exciting and engrossing story of the humans (Terran), trying to survive while the two races created by the z'elnaga, (an omnipotent race capable of creating entire races) fight it out to destroy the other. Now more about the races, the Terran are the humans, they are the bread and butter of Starcraft although that doesn't they can't whup some ass when they need to! They can move thier buldings around and repair their building and machanical units quckly, although as they aren't very technologically advanced and so their buildings burn down unless they are repaired when thaty are heavily damaged. They are that second cheapest to build, their basic unit is the Marine (an eight-foot guy in a big armour suit) and they can do a variety of roles, as they can fire both in the air and on the ground. The Protoss are a technologically advanced race, every unit, building or base defence they have is protected by a shield that must be broken through before they can be destroyed, however they pay for thins in resources as their cheapest unit, a Zealot (hard guy in really big armour suit with two blades made of energy on his forearms, Mr. Zealot to you and me) costs twice as much as a marine but he has twice as many hit points, three times the attack power and with his shield, he can survive for about four times as long, but he can only attack enemies on the ground. The Zerg, the third race, are really cheap to build, and they can all regenerate hit points over time, so even if they are only on one hit point they will be good as new, eventually. Their basic unit, the imaginatively titled Zergling, is half the cost of a Marine and so a quarter of the cost
of a Zealot, however they have only got about a third of the hit points of a Zealot and so die fairly quickly, but if you swamp a Zealot in them he dies faster than you can say splat! They are fairly specialised as they can only attack ground units, but by the time you have aircraft attacking you you should have an air defense up, and if you swampa base in them, all that's left is a pile of rubble. The thing that makes this game stand out are the little features, the creatures that run around (not for long if I'm playing - beastie casserole) the little extras like if you group a unit and then holt it's group number down they talk to you, and shout at you to "stop poking them, it tickles" The funniest one I have come across is an elite unit who when you do this trick says 'Hey, stop poking me, I'm not an orc, This isn't warcraft in spce you know, it's much more sophisicated, I know it's not 3D, What do you want me to do about it?' little things like that which just crack me up, get this game now! Also this game is quite old so there is another reson to but it - it's cheap!
