Stronghold was when I played it, a game of ridiculous detail! I loved every little bit of it, and I still play this and the second one to this day. So what made this one so great? Well let's see, there was two parts of this game, both of where were very in depth and in detail. The economic/city, and the war. The economy part was detailed in every way. Build multiple buildings to serve many purposes, granary to hold the food, hunter den to hunt wild animals *if you built too much you'd of course wipe out the meat supply and be low on that for a LONG time*, a woodcutter to cut up some lumber for ya, a mill to make flour. Then there were the resource ... Read the complete review

I may be slightly biased in that I love nearly all PC games of this genre, but this is one of the best. The interface is intuitive and doesn't take long to get used to. The various game modes are perfect for any mood. From military campaigns to free builds. The realism is different from other games in this genre, not necessarily better but different. For instance the food supply needs a farmer, a miller and then a baker as opposed to others that need just a "food collector" of some sort. On the other hand buildings are built instantly with no need for someone to build them. Another main difference is that the player has no direct control ... Read the complete review

Stronghold is a new release from FireFly, letting you take the role of a medieval lord in olde England (and Wales). It takes the guise of a RTS (real time strategy) game and you control both your military forces as well as having certain economic decisions to make. The crux of the game however, and my main reason for wanting the game, is that you can design and build mighty castles. Ever since I was a small child I have loved to visit these ancient monuments and a game which allows me to recreate and bring them to life has a great personal appeal. As with most recent releases the packaging is DVD case format with a comprehensive and glossy manual and ... Read the complete review

This was the latest game to land on my desk. After taking a while to install, I launched straight into the tutorial, which teaches you the basic commands and way in which you control you troops/building all fell into place very quickly (anyone who are used to playing games like AOE & Red Alert will find this like 2nd nature) Each stage is explained very well so you know what you have to do from the word go, at each briefing you can if you want ask for a hint or go ahead and try coz if you fail you can always go back and ask for a hint. Each mission guides you through the new units etc, so no need to read the book, although this can prove to be an advantage and ... Read the complete review

So another medievil war game, you no you love it. Theres more to it than war of cause, build up the economy, punish the criminal threat with duncking pools and cut there heads of with the chopping block. That will make them run for there cash. In the game stonghold there are a variety of things to do. There are two modes military mode and economy mode.In the military mode there is another selection of things to do. The campaigns where you go up against the big bosses of mid age warfare. Siege mode is when you choose a selection of soldiers to either defend or attack a mixture of actual sites that stand here even today, like winsor castle. Defend ... Read the complete review
