Advantages: got it for free

Disadvantages: all events are practically the same

I actually received this game for free from DVD Express when I placed an order there. After playing the game for awhile, I understand why they were giving it away.

Remember the old Track and Field arcade game from the early 80's where you alternated pressing buttons to get your guy to run faster or jump higher? That's exactly what Sydney 2000 is like, except without the fun aspect. There's no mouse support at all, you can't even type a player's name on the keyboard (you have to use the arrow keys), and you can't change the keyboard configuration. While there are 4 different configurations, none had the key layout I wanted.

Each game is played the same way. Mash the right/left keys together to get your guy to run, swim, kayak, whatever. There is an "action" key to get your guy to jump, but that's the only other key needed. I honestly can't even say there's a part of this game that's fun. Maybe the first time I did the 100 meter sprint, but by the time I got to the 3rd event, my wrists/fingers were tired of mashing keys.

Avoid this game like the plague.
