Advantages: Successful hybrid, good voice acting and graphics

Disadvantages: Not always sure what to do or where you're going, not very long

Having seen Pitch Black I certainly was not holding out much hope for this one. This is a first person shooter but it's not one of the simple, go crazy and shoot everything fps'. There's substance to it.

The game starts with Riddick being led into the prison, Butcher Bay. This part of the game was actually my favourite which I suspect is due to the RPG element which exists when speaking with other inmates. In order to escape from the yard and cells you need to talk to different inmates and perform a range of tasks in order to obtain rewards from them which will either help you complete other tasks or aid your escape.

Unfortunately progressing through the game can be difficult at times due to the lack of information you're given. I'm not the type that likes to be spoon-fed/have my hand held during a game but I certainly don't like having no idea about what I'm supposed to be doing or where I'm supposed to be going.

Even if you're not a fan of first person shooters there'll be something for you here. Riddick combines RPG, FPS, adventure and stealth.

Summary: Pretty good for a short and cheap game
