Are you a fan of Lord of the Rings? Do you enjoy playing strategy games? Boy, are you going to be in for a treat. The Battle for Middle Earth brings you both in glorious fashion. Welcome to Middle Earth. Imagine the Fellowship of the Ring approaching the gates of Moria. They enter the darkness; the only illumination is that of Gandalf’s staff, showing the area immediately around the fellowship. All they can see is the grey walls of the tunnel as they progress until suddenly there is the sound of drums in the deep. There, up ahead are two orcs on the other side of a bridge. Aragorn and Boromir charge forward to destroy them. There is a prize, an ...  Read the complete review

This is a review on the game called Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth, the newest instalment to the Lord of the Rings games. This game is the best strategy game of the year, and has loads of stuff for you to play and have fun with on this game. I will hopefully be able to talk about everything about this game, that will make is useful to you, and inspire you maybe to even buy the game. I thought I might just say this before starting my review, as it says in the manual, well here it is: Epilepsy Warning, they advise that you should have intervals while playing the game, don’t play the game when your feeling tiered, and always take breaks. Phew, glad I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth (PC): Hardcore Fanboy Game! - Are You Ready!? (1052 words)

With the massive success of the movies it’s been quite surprising to see that relatively few Lord of the Rings games have hit the shelves. True, EA, the holders of the official movie licence have released two slash-em-ups for the last two films, and a few games have been released by other publishers based on the books, but there has been no blockbuster hit to really satisfy the armies of fans of the series. That however, is all about to change with the big budget release of Battle for Middle Earth, a strategy game, as the title suggests, set in the Middle World universe and encompassing the major battles from all three movies with a couple of extra ones thrown in for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lord of the rings: boring for middle earth (95 words)
by - written on 29/11/05 (Somewhat useful, 64 readings)
Rating:

To sum up this game, i can really only bestow upon it a comment of mediocrity. "It's pleasant enough". I know that seems a tad harsh, as it does have various merits. Overall the experience does feel a bit bland, with some of the RTS elements showing their age in particular. Multiplayer offers some variety, if only in the sense of frantic battles and gameplay. Overall though this adds little to the genre and will really only engage you if you love the films/books, or are a big strategy ...  Read the complete review
