The game begins with the Punisher being arrested and interrogated. You then play his flashbacks to see how he ended up in this position and you will try to break out afterwards.
The disappointing aspect of the Punisher is the fact that there isn't much skill, if any, required to complete it. You can simply walk through the levels shooting and throwing people from windows without any real effort or need for tactics.
Punisher does somewhat redeem itself in that there are areas of each level marked by skulls. Where there is a white skull you can perform a special interrogation, where there is a gold skull you can perform a special kill i.e. throwing the enemy from a window several stories up. You can also use enemies as human shields but you can't change weapons with a shield so you must dispose of "it" first. The camera can also be somewhat awkward when trying to aim low with a shield.
The graphics are ok as is the sound but in terms of gameplay if you're looking for a challenge you won't find it here. The special kill scenes are very good but it does make normal kills somewhat boring. Overall it's a decent game to waste some time on but it was just far too easy for me and because of that it became quite monotonous so I won't give it more than 2 stars.
