      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      The Sims H&M

Sims 2 is all about creating so-called sims, which you can control. You control their lives and in making friends, getting into a relationship and having a career. This is the same as the first part of this game. But the biggest changes were nevertheless that Sims could become old and the woman really pregnant. Back to Part 1 your sims maintained the same age and people could only have children, after much together in a romantic way interacted (kissing and hugging). The woman was therefore not pregnant, but the phone rang asking if you wanted a child. Not realistic. In Part 2, your Sims can actually get pregnant after they have gone to bed together and allows your baby to grow up to an elderly person and even to die.

Are you crazy about clothes? Then the Sims 2 H&M expansion pack is for you. You get about 60 new items designed by the team at H&M. You will not only get clothing but also such items to create your own shop. You can decorate your own H & M store or go shopping in a store that has been designed for the game. You have all the items you need for your shop as fitting rooms, cash registers and mannequins which you can dress yourself.

A clothing store is of course nothing without clothes! You get a wide selection of clothing like new dresses, jeans, blouses, as well as accessories. You can really just go shopping in the store and try all kinds of clothing. Finally, you can build your own catwalk so you can show all your friends what you bought. This is a fun addition, but it's something fun once and then you never do it.

This is actually just a big promotion pack for H & M. This cooperation with this game was of course perfect for H & M to get more publicity. The amount of clothing that you get isn't even that much and today many fans make their own items that you can download for free. This expansion pack also had been nice if you could download it for free, but to pay around 10 pounds for this is too much. And the clothes were modern when the game came out, but it is already outdated now a few years later, so your Sims are now behind in style, while this expansion pack was supposed to just make sure that your Sims can follow the latest trends.
      Disappointing.

        Disadvantages

As long as you do not pay much for it, it is a good add-on

        The Sims 2 - H&M Fashion Stuff
        (PC Game)

Although the Sims have bought out a third instalment, The Sims 2 is still a hit in our house with the many expansions and add-ons available which can all be picked up for a lot cheaper now that The Sims 3 is out.

H&M Fashion needs The sims 2 to play and loads up almost automatically from start up, following the on screen instructions as you go. It does not take long to install and if this is your latest add-on then you will need to use this disc to play.

        Specifications include:

OS: Windows Vista, XP, Me, 2000, or 98
        CPU: 1.0 GHz or faster
        RAM: 256 MB or more
Disc Drive: 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
Hard Drive: At least 350 MB of free space
        Sound: DirectX 9.0 compatible
        Video: DirectX 9.0 compatible
Video card must have 32 MB or more memory and one of these T&L capable chipsets:
        ATI Radeon 8500 or greater;
        NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS or greater

H&M Fashion has 60 fashion items for your male, female and child Sims. These include tops, trousers, dresses and so forth. You can also showcase your fashion items in your Sim store with changing rooms, clothes racks and tills all available.

At first, the new range of clothing and shop items are fun, though to be honest, after a while, this add-on becomes obsolete. Yes, the clothes in the main are a great addition, though I wouldn't pay full price for this. I was lucky to pick this up for only £2.50, in which case, it is money well spent, though spending any more and I feel you will be disappointed.

The running of the game works perfectly with the Sims 2 and does not cause any disruptions.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

I wasn't going to buy this Sims 2 expansion pack - even though i have all the others - as i thought that clothes weren't that important in the game. However i won a copy of this for pennies on ebay and have to say i really love all the different outfits for my Sims. I often take them shopping now to buy new outfits. I was also surprised to see a few furnishings related to the pack such as rugs and pictures. It could have done with a few more childrens/toddlers outfits as they dont seem to have many to wear but overall I would definately recommend this expansion pack along with The Sims 2 Ikea Stuff pack.

        Disadvantages

Great add on - brings game to life

This is a great Sims 2 add on for anyone who loves the game and loves the fashion retailer H & M.

In this fashion add on game you can dress your sims up in the latest styles - making them trendier and look cooler. It give yous such a wide variety of schoices for both men and women and it has styles that you would even dress yourself in!

This game also allows you to expand on your own business (if you have the Open for Business expansion pack) and you can stock these funky items in your shop or home business which really enhances the ooprtunitiesavailable to you when starting your own sims business.

I really enjoyde the items that this expansion pack offered as it had clothes for adults which were trendy and fun. They make the sims game a lot more realistic and bring a more modern feel to it.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Paying for a big advertisement is insulting at best.

The Sims 2: H&M Fashion pack is an add on that requires the original Sims 2 game to play and it is centered around clothes shopping; specifically H&M.

In this review, I will provide the 'facts' first; that is the information provided by EA; and then I will provide my personal information and opinion - something that EA will likely not want you to see.

          --The Facts--

          -The Dispute

When this pack was first released, there was a lot of dispute about EA releasing a pack and making money from gamers as well as advertising revenue from H&M. While this isn't illegal, it also isn't particularly ethical and a lot of gamers avoided the pack for this very reason.

          -Specs

The stuff pack requires at the very least:

OS: Windows Vista, XP, Me, 2000, or 98

Installed: The Sims 2 for Windows

          CPU: 1.0 GHz or faster

          RAM: 256 MB or more

Disc Drive: 8x or faster CD/DVD drive

Hard Drive: At least 350 MB of free space

          Sound: DirectX 9.0 compatible

          Video: DirectX 9.0 compatible
Video card must have 32 MB or more memory and one of these T&L capable chipsets:

          ATI Radeon 8500 or greater;
          NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS or greater

          -Clothing

As you might expect, the pack contains a variety of new outfits (around 40 in total) for sims to be 'fashionable'. They come in a range of different styles though most of them tend to be somewhere on the line between modern and retro.

          -Buying & Building

The pack contains everything that you would need to create a super-stylish clothing store including sleek display racks, specialty lighting, changing rooms, display cases, display models, and suchlike. There is around 35 objects in total, not counting new walls and floors.

A few of these items are H&M branded, but a lot of them aren't making them more flexible for players to design their own clothing stores.

          --My Opinion--

          -The Dispute

In the beginning, I was part of this bandwagon too, but I couldn't bring myself to completely condemn the pack until I had tried it first. Although the ethics were questionable, the pack may have had enough credibility to stand up on its own two feet; sadly my faith in EA was dashed somewhat by this aspect.
I believe that it would have been more ethically sound had EA reduced the price of the stuff pack in relation to the advertising proceeds they were undoubtedly receiving.

          -Specs

The specs can be deceiving. Meeting the minimum specs alone will not allow for decent gameplay, if at all. In my experience, the sims 2 requires a computer that is as powerful as possible. It is common Sims 2 community knowledge to take the specs they give you and multiply them to provide the 'real' minimum specs. Below is a more accurate estimation of the specifications you will need:

OS: Windows Vista, XP, Me, 2000, or 98

Installed: The Sims 2 for Windows

          CPU: 2.0 GHz or faster

          RAM: 1 GB or more

Disc Drive: 8x or faster CD/DVD drive

Hard Drive: At least 1.5GB of free space

          Sound: DirectX 9.0 compatible

          Video: DirectX 9.0 compatible
Video card must have 32 MB or more memory and one of these T&L capable chipsets:

          ATI Radeon 8500 or greater;
          NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS or greater;

          -False Claims

EA claim that with this pack one of the main functions of the pack is to allow the player to - and I quote - "Design a fashion runway where your Sims can showcase their favorite outfits on the catwalk.". In actual fact, this is not possible in any way other than 'using your imagination to pretend' so I don't really so much think of it as a 'function' as much as I think of it as a blatant lie.

          -Clothing

Frankly, I don't think that the outfits are much good. Most of the outfits are ones that I will never use. While I wouldn't call myself a fashion guru, I tend to have a good idea about what looks good and what doesn't.
Furthermore, the number of outfits is too low and too restricted for a fashion centralized stuff pack.
Although the items are presumably based on actual H&M clothing, I have yet to see any real-life counterparts for any of the pieces in the game.

          -Buying & Building

I will be honest; the shop items look great. However, for the most part the 'look' is the only thing it has. Contrary to what I would have liked, a lot of the fancy display stands are exclusively decorative objects that are only viewable; they cannot be used in the same way as the clothing stands, making them pretty much useless.

Although building a H&M store can be fun perhaps once...maybe even twice...the title lacks to provide the very staple of Sims 2 gaming; allowing for creativity. The branded items are restricted to building H&M establishments and they are useless otherwise.

-Conclusion = So, is it fun?

For about five minutes, the game does provide mild entertainment, but it has no long term value unless you really like the clothing. I will occasionally use a few of the items from the pack; but not enough to warrant what I spent on it. Perhaps actually including the 'fashion runway' system that was falsely advertised with the pack would have given the pack some much needed credibility; but my final word is simply 'avoid'.
