Advantages: New places, interactions and a whole new aspect of dating and outings

The Sims 2: Nightlife is the second expansion pack for the Sims 2, a simulation game by Maxis. The Sims 2 is a game in which you create your own little people (or you can use the premade ones) and basically act as God and control them. You dictate everything, from what they eat in the morning to who they marry.

To play the Nightlife expansion pack you need to already have bought and installed the Sims 2 game. I'm a big fan of the Sims 2 myself, so I was very excited when this new pack was released.

I think that this is one of my favourite expansion pack that has been released for this game. So many new opportunities open up for the Sims, especially in the realm of dating. I have always loved setting the Sims up with who they're going to marry. I pick a pretty spot for the engagement and then plan a huge wedding for them. So, for me, the eternal romantic, this game is great.

In this expansion pack a whole new mini-neighbourhood is opened up, like a college if you have Sims 2: University. In this mini-neighbourhood there are a whole range of new places for them to check out. From loud nightclubs, to family bowling alleys to romantic restaurants Nightlife has it all. Your Sim also has the ability to ask another Sim out on an outing, if they're friends, or a date. On this date or outing, there is a meter, not dissimilar to the party meter, to show how well the date or outing is going. The rating is improved when the Sims interact positively with each other or when they start having fun. Fulfilling the Sims' wants too is a great way to up the meter.

At the end of the date, if it was a good one the two Sims will get a big relationship boost, and if it was really great, one of the Sims will surprise the other Sim with a romantic gift.

As well as this whole new realm of outings is the interactions. A whole host of new interactions has been added to the game, including heaps of romantic ones like 'Slow Dance' and even the hilarious new dance move.

I would definately recommend this to anyone who likes the Sims 2 and wants to expand their Sims' world a little farther. It is relatively cheap, you can buy it at about 10 pounds from Amazon.
