Advantages: many features available
Disadvantages: may be get bored easily, longetivity may not be long
The sims is a simulation games where many people find addictive to. Few years ago, I played a The sims 1 before in my friends' house but didn't really have a chance to get to play this games seriously. A couple days ago, finally I bought the sims2 and ready to have it a try. I really want to know why this games could attract many people to play!
I registered at the sims 2 official wwebsite and got to know that there are many features available in the sims 2. The good news here is the newest version of the sims 2 sim city societies is now available! The sims 2 players might be very delighted by this great news!
So, I installed this games and played. The installation process is very simple and easy. Follow the instructions and everything would be set. When you are playing the games you need to insert the copy of disc into your diskdrive to enable you to access your games. I don't really like this features. I prefer if I could just play straight away from my pc without the aid of anything. It would be easier if I want to go outstation. Dont need to bring along the disc anyway.
In fact, I was prepared to get addicted to this games as many of friends said they are addicted to the sims 2. Anyway, I am not... This games have been put into my last drawers after one week into playing it. I get bored to it. Everyday, when my sims wake up, need a bath, need to eat, need to have fun, go to work, want to sleep... everytime I need to deal with all this things. No surprised. You would be certainly get bored by this when time goes by.
Anyway, sometimes it is quite fun playing it though. I created a sims family where the couples get a baby after woohoo (refer to making love in the games). and I want to find out whether the two couple would mind if one of them has relationship with other sims. So, when the female sims was in the bed "woohoo-ing" with another male sims but not her husband, I brought her sims husband to the bed. Incredibly, the male sims husband got angry by that. And they finally broke up! Wow. I never expect this to happen. It is very lively. And what's more is that the characters you created could be anybody you like. From the hair to the bottom, even his outfit and everything, it would be under your control! You are God in the games. If you want them to live, they survive. If you dont want, they certainly would die off...
If your boredom threshold is not as low as mine, the sims 2 would be a great one for you to spend your time on!
Anyway you need to reach some requirements if you want to play this game. If you have a T&L (info about what T&L is below) capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM (such as nvidia GeForce 2 or better or ATI Radeon 7000 or better) then you need at least:
* 800 MHz processor
* 256 MB RAM if Windows XP
* 128 MB RAM if Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000
* At least 3.5 gigs of free hard drive space
If you have a non-T&L capable video card (such as TNT2, Intel, or Rage for example) then you need at least:
* 2.0 GHz processor
* 256 MB RAM if Windows XP
* 128 MB RAM if Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000
* At least 3.5 gigs of free hard drive space
Recommened video cards (and the more video memory the better):
* ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
* Nvidia Geforce 4
