Advantages: More features, improved gameplay and graphics.

Disadvantages: Will be more demanding (PC specs) and can be time-consuming.

Having played on both the Sims and the Sims 2 along with most of the expansion packs I have eagerly been awaiting the launch of the new 'The Sims 3'. There is certianly a lot of hype in place for the luanch of this game with the reputation that it has achieved over the years.

There have been huge improvements to the game made by the developers making it much better than the previous versions of the Sims. One thing to bare in mind is that, games are becomming more demanding and so it is worth checking that your computer will be able to run it.

The graphics is a vast improvement over the previous editions with homes looking more vibrant and colourful than ever. This really does make the game more appealing.

It will be possible to view the houses and neighbourhoods seamlessly without loading times unlike in previous editions. The developers said "What you do outside of your home matters as much as what your do inside." This will add a whole new dimension to the game, adding to its brilliance.

Personality configurations will be more complex, create a sim will be more diverse, the build and buy modes will be enhanced and there will be a 'Movie-making tool'! This wil allow movies to be made of gameplay and then presumably be shared with an online community!

Overall there is much more choice and variety available for the user which will be a significant improvement to previous editions. Whilst the graphics are not up to the standard of other games they will be much better than the Sims 2. However, this will mean that a good graphics card will be needed to run the game and that could be a potential pitful.

Overall I believe the game looks to be an exciting new release and could really up the standard once again! There is no getting away from the fact that the game is very time-consuming.
