Advantages: New customization tools, Good graphics, Fresher interface

Disadvantages: Lack of objects/clothes etc, a few bugs

I have played the Sims since the very first game, and I love this new Sims game! It is a great upgrade from the previous games and the graphics of it are amazing (although if you have an older computer it can run a little slow). My favourite bit about it is the new customization features, now you can change any of the in game items, making them change colours completely, allowing you to make items in rooms match and change items to suit your own tastes.

The new character customization is pretty good, although it is still pretty similar to the Sims 2, there are a lot nicer facial combinations now - in the Sims 2 there was about one or two good looking faces and all the rest looked like something out of a freak show! My only problem with this is that lots of the faces you can make have chipmunky cheeks for some reason.

The new menus, however, are a little annoying, in the Build menu, for example, there is a picture of a house, and you have to click on the door to choose doors to buy, or click on the floor to select floors - it can be fiddly to select the right one sometimes. Although this is only minor and is hardly going to stop you from buying the game!

I do find it slightly annoying that there are so few items and clothes etc. because I am so used to playing the Sims 2 with lots of expansion packs. There is also a lack of user-created stuff at the moment, but the exact same thing was true when the Sims 2 launched, so hopefully lots more items are on their way so that we can customize our Sims and their houses further.

I'd highly recommend it for any Sims fan!
