Advantages: Its addicitve

Disadvantages: Its too similar to previous Sims games

I loved the previous Sims games and have looked forward to the release of this game for some time. I like the online features and downloadable content. This is a great improvement on previous games.

The graphics are great and the choice of aspirations and the way you collect points for a variety of mini goals is great. I like the town view and the option to visit places in town that way. What I don't like is that this game is not really all that much different to the previous games.

I was excited at the addition of the excursions and trips to the cemetery etc but I am so disappointed at the lack of interaction once you're at the museum or cemetery. You start a tour of the stadium or mausoleum etc and there is no option to physically see the tour or navigate your sim around them. It is all automated with the odd box of text on the screen asking if you want to continue or leave. I can't figure out the point of these, as far as gameplay goes.

Very disappointing, but still addictive.

The options for building houses is great with the addition of more angles and shapes etc.

I find this game insufficiently different to the Sims 2 to justify it's release. It's still a great Sims game though, just don't expect it to be a new Sims experience. It all smacks of "been there, done that"

Summary: A great game but nothing new.
