Advantages: Better gameplay

Disadvantages: Still a couple of bugs in the software (maids that don't leave)

Since the beginning of Sims I have always been a fan. There was a long wait for Sims 3 but when I finally started seeing the adverts for it I couldn't help but get excited. There had been a few issues with Sims 2 that had annoyed me and I was hoping they would get addressed in Sims 3. I am pleased to say they did.

The first major change that has been made is the ability to walk around the area, you don't need to call a taxi every time you want to go somewhere and you can just walk next door to your neighbours house and ring the doorbell to invite yourself round! If you have enough money you can also buy your own car and drive yourself to wherever you want to go.

The way that children are raised has also changed slightly with a lot of emphasis on teaching the children to use a potty, walk and talk. I feel that this has added to the family aspect of the game. You also get to choose your children's traits as they grow up if you have raised them correctly. If something goes wrong then they are randomly assigned a trait so they could end up evil!

The idea of having a lifetime aspiration in the game gives you a goal to work towards with your character. I find that this means I am more likely to continue on with my characters to the end of their lives than before where I would often start a new family.

There are different ways of gaining promotions within this game as well, you are often given chances to work overtime in some way and also to suck up to your boss. Medics have to be on-call throughout parts of the game and this means that you will end up with a very tired Sim for a few days as they try to catch up on their much needed work and sleep.

There are lots of opportunities to collect objects such as rocks and insects throughout the game, this utilises the new transportation feature very well.

Summary: Well worth the money, can keep you entertained for hours at a time and the game never runs out!
