Advantages: realistic, fun, innovative, creative, beats boredom

Disadvantages: addicting, expensive

The sims 3 is an excellent virtual game, based on real life. I think the game is actually becoming very realistic (especially when comparing to the original sims) as the houses, cars, jobs, schools, etc all reflect real life. I have had the original sims, sims 2, sims 3 and a few expansion packs for sims 2. My favourite has to definitely be the sims 3, as it has become more interactive (sims can go shopping, visit places, unlike in the original sims).

The game is from EA games, and EA are extremely respected in the gaming world.
One negative to the game is the price - it is usually between £25-30 and at least £15 or more for the expansion packs. As the game is very addicting, and expansion packs become a necessary addition to the game, a lot of money could end up being spent on the Sims.

The graphics for the Sims 3 are just great. There are 3D effects, and lots of different designs for houses and cars. There is also a lot of designs for the actual characters, so essentially you could have a very realistic sim world. If you like realistic games that reflect real life/daily events, this is the game for you.

What I love about this game is that there is so many possibilities to it. It's not the usual game with a plot which you have to complete, and then that is it. With this game, you could create a huge range of families with different occupations and create a story/change a story for each one. For example; You could make sims have babies and have nice jobs, or have affairs, or not work, or own their own business, or have a huge family, or ones who love to go to the beach, etc.
In addition, the game provides motivation - as sims have to do things such as learn skills, and work their way up the career ladder. So if you want a game that provides some drive and tasks to complete, this is a fun game for that.

I think the game is generally targeted amongst teenagers, although to be fair - i think this is a game that can suit all ages.

The best thing about this game is that it is creative and can provide hours and hours of fun. Definitely conquers boredom, although worryingly can be rather addictive to play!

It is also very interactive. There is official websites to go on forums, discuss your Sims and even download or share houses and families built.

I would definitely recommend this game to anybody.

Summary: worth buying
