The Sims Supernatural is the 7th expansion pack released for the Sims 3 and sees the introduction of :
You can create and play as all of these life states accept for witches (any human can train to be a witch).
There is a new lunar cycle in which a full moon appears every 3 days, having some interesting effects on your Sims and the game in general, for example Werewolves will be unable to stay in human form during the full moon and they will be forced to change to wolf form, which come with some really annoying habits like destroying your furniture. Zombies may appear outside your house and start digging up your garden or even attack you if you get to close and possible pass on the Zombie curse.
Your Sims can now learn Alchemy which is probably my favourite bit of this expansion pack, they can learn loads of spells and elixirs and use them on themselves or other Sims, and if you also have ambitions installed you can become a freelance alchemist.
In designing your home there is a new gothic style you can now choose with quite a lot of themed furniture like the corset backed chair, this is the perfect look if you have a house full of Vampires, all in all there are 226 new objects.
Create a sim has been overhauled to let you create the new supernatural characters including loads of new outfits, hairstyles and skin tones etc.
Each of the different supernatural forms comes with its own special abilities. Fairies can turn into sprite form and fix things, high power witches can bring people back from the dead, and Vampires can drink from other Sims.
There are 6 new traits and 9 new lifetime wishes to choose from and 6 new lifetime rewards to earn.
There are two new career paths
? Fortune teller (which I have never managed to figure out how to get )
? Alchemist (Self Employed so you need ambitions installed as well)
There are 11 new plants, 3 new fish, 3 new gems and 12 new recipes
Overall it sounds like Supernatural would be a really good expansion pack with loads of new things to explore and do but in reality it just doesn''t live up to the expectations. Although making your new characters supernatural is quite fun and the fairies in particular look really cool (in my opinion) once you start playing with the characters there is not a huge amount to do with them, I don''t know if I am missing something or not getting the most out the game because I don''t have all the expansion packs installed but it just feels like you are playing dress up supernatural rather than actual supernatural characters. So really it was a little bit of a let-down for me.
In it''s defense you get a lot more new objects and outfits than in most expansion packs so I would probably describe it as more of a cross between a stuff pack and an expansion pack and if you can pick it up cheap then it''s worth getting, but definitely not the best offering the Sims have managed.

The Sims, as most of us know, has a market all of its own. There is something about The Sims that gamers of all ages love, and I'm one of them. It took me years and years to jump on the band wagon, but when I did, I realised what I had been missing, and I always look out for new releases. EA games are certainly on to a winner, with The Sims and Fifa. To play on this expansion pack, you will need Sims 3 first. I would also recommend going on the 'can you run it?' site (it's free) to check your pc is suitable for the game (www.systemrequirementslab.com/).
A recent release was Sims 3 Supernatural. Released on 4th September this year, my lovely husband pre ordered it so it landed on my doorstep on the very morning of release. I couldn't wait to get started. It's not often that I actually get chance to play so when I do, it is a real treat for me.
So what's it all about:
Strange and mischievous happenings in the mysterious town of Moonlight Falls are where it's all at. Cast spells during the witching hour as you meet supernatural beings such as witches, naughty fairies, vampires and werewolves. Where you enter the 'create Sims' page, you are now greeted with 'non-human' Sims, allowing you to create your very own witch, ghost, genie, etc. I would recommend you take a look at the pop ups about the characters as there are so many, and many of the actions are also new. Using your wand you can make potions and elixirs which will turn Sims in zombies or gold, depending on how you are feeling. Expect surprises and spooks along the way.
You can share your potions with friends who have Sims 3.
Explore Moonlight Falls and discover the abilities released under a full moon. New families appear (the Goths are now ghosts), as well as new places such as the Elixir shop.
Using the sliding bookcase, you can kit out your home using gothic inspiration and spooky furniture.
The clothes are good, with plenty of choice. I seem to gravitate towards the zombies for some reason (I think it's influenced by my love for The Walking Dead TV series!), and the zombie clothes are authentically ripped and torn, to give you that fresh zombie look! The werewolf is also another favourite, allowing you to style the Sim in normal mode and to 'changed' full on werewolf mode!
(My favourite!) Mix your own elixir to become a zombie, complete with shuffling and lots of biting! Bite other Sims to cause havoc in Moonlight Falls. You can soon make another elixir to change everything back though so don't worry. Find rare ingredients for your elixirs, to allow you to hex Sims or charm them. There are over 200 new objects, and you will need to collect gems, plants, etc. to build certain elixirs at the Alchemist station. The Collectables Journal allows you to keep a track of what you have or haven't collected, and this is a great little feature.
Discover supernatural items and Sims! Create wizards, mischievous fairies, witches and many more, each with their own magic abilities and traits. Or, race around on a broomstick, visit the gypsy caravan or gaze longingly into the magic mirror.
Awaken Bonehilda, the strange skeletal maid (you'll need to go to the buy menu and get the special coffin).
Discover new promises, lifetime happiness awards, lifetime ambitions and wishes. You can use things like the lifetime happiness points to exchange and buy new things.
Build a career as a fortune teller or an Alchemist.
Spell books and vampires have featured in the Sims before but only as premium content, so I think this game has been long overdue for fans, and for me it isn't a disappointment. I wouldn't recommend the limited edition content; it just didn't seem worth it to me. It opened up plants vs zombies, but I think there is more than enough content with the extension pack. Some aspects of the limited edition content:
* Plant peashooters to keep your house secure from things that go bump in the night.
* Go creepy chic with cone hats, suits of rags, and other fun-dead fashions.
In my opinion, this is the best Sims expansion pack so far.
