Advantages: Great new possibilities, lots of new objects

The sims hot date expansion pack, is a delightful addition to the sims. If you were losing interest in the game, then this provides a new lease of life.

The game play

This expansion pack, provides more activities and more social interactions, than the original game. In total, there are more than 40 new ways for your sims to interact and change their lifetime and daily relationships.

When you meet a new sim now, you can choose between more interactions in the speach bubble.

You can now

*Greet differently
*Kiss differently
*Hug differently
*Insult
*Entertain differently
*Brag
*Primp
*Say goodbye differently

Relationships have two lines now of compatibility. You know have a life line and a social activities line. Each goes upto 100, and things like how you get along, and interests you share, all provide scores. They higher the scores, the more you are getting along.

Downtown area

The downtown area, provides new places for your sims to go. They can go alone or take a friend. They can meet people there, and maybe score a date.

Downtown provides:

*Shops
*Parks
*Picnics
*Boat rental
*Swimming
*Resturants
*Dancing
*Fast food

Each neighbourhood has it's own downtown area, and each downtown has ten lots. The downtown is already built, but you can bulldoze it, if you like, and build your own. Money is no object, when you are building in the downtown, you can be as cheap or as flash as you like.

New features

There are plenty of new objects for you to choose from aswell. 125 new things have been created. Things like:

*Cuddle couch
*Fish pond
*Icecream stands
*Hotdog stands
*Picnic baskets
*Lovers swinging couch
*New resturant furniture
*Shopping facilities

All of the above, provide more interaction between sims. You can now buy gifts from shops and give them
to your friends. You can now buy magazines, which once they have been read, will influence your sims interests.

There is also a wider variety of floors and walls. These will help you create the perfect atmospher, for your sims to date, chat and meet people.

In build mode there are two new tools. You can now create water for seas and lakes, and you can now also, provide lush long green grass. Ideal for those picnics in the park.

In buy mode they have changed things so that all the chairs are together, sofas, beds, tables, electricals, appliances ect. I found this extremely helpful. It is a lot easier to find the items you are looking for.

New charactors

New charactors have been created in the downtown area aswell. They include:

*Blonde bombshell
*Femme fatale
*Dream boat
*Lounge lizard
*Jock

You can meet these charactors, in the downtown area. You can wine them and dine them, and if you get along who knows.

In total, this expansion is a delight. I have enjoyed watching my dates fizzle out, and being insulted. I like all the new interactions, there are some nice new touches. This game provides all you need to to fulfil your sims dreams. If you have lost interest in the game due to repetativeness, then this will certainly get you hooked again.

One last thing, there are now eight neighbourhoods, providing eight downtown areas. (Instead of just five)
