... pack does at least add quite a bit; there are plenty of new items and also a few new mechanics which allow you greater freedom over what your Sim does, and also a larger neighbourhood, meaning your game is even more true to life and alive. However, I can't outrightly praise it because, while it was only about £20 when it first came out, is it fair to dupe players like this? Would a download for £5 not have sufficed? Given the content available, I'm not convinced it warranted a whole other hard copy, and while ther...more

I will assume, that if you are reading this review, you have The Sims and are thinking of buying The Sims Livin’ It up, or you are thinking of buying The Sims and The Sims Livin’ It up in one package. So, if you are the second, you may want to know more about The Sims than there is on the back of the package box. Basically, what you do is create a family of Sims, which are the characters of the game. You choose names, heads, clothes even their personalities. You then move them into a house and control them. You chose their jobs, what they do everyday, what they dance to, what they watch on television and so on. The Sims is a good game, and ...  Read the complete review

The expansion pack. An excuse to bleed more money out of the game buying public’s pocket? A chance to implement some new features into the game? A last attempt to prolong the life of a dated has been? Expansion packs are funny little things, especially in this day in age. Don’t get me wrong I like the idea of getting more stuff to do in a game but now that we can get most things like that, like new maps, mods and skins for all sorts of games from the Internet for free it’s a wonder why they release them, maybe the first choice on the list is all too true. Also packs vary in quantity and quality, the original game ...  Read the complete review

This expansion pack for ‘The Sims’ offers 4 new neighbourhoods, crazy new characters such as the grim reaper and a genie. New faces, skins and clothes. New careers like musician and Paranormal. Excellent new items such as a chemistry set and electric guitar. Three new building themes – castle, high-tech and psychedelic / tacky love theme. This expansion pack is based on spicing things up in the sims lives with weird and wonderful happenings just to mix things up and make it more challenging for everyone. I love it and I hope the next expansion pack is just as good as this one! ...  Read the complete review

Livin Large is a bit Small (502 words)

The Sims is one of those games that you either love or hate. Then there are subdivisions in the "love" category. Those are the "I want to be God" gamers, the "I love to design houses" gamers, the "I love to play with action figures and barbies" gamers, then there are the "I love to create new stuff" gamers. If you are in any but the last category, then you'll most definately want to get this pack, otherwise you may want to pass on it. I want to state right away what this expansion has in it, because there is no place that I can find that actually tells what else is in this pack other than the 8 or so cool ...  Read the complete review

The new Sims 'Livin' Large' upgrade package is out. OK so in the UK it's called 'Livin' it up', I guess they felt we couldn't uderstand such hip 'n' happening language. For those of you who know and love the Sims this is probably all the information you need to whip out the credit card and bring more joy to your Sims lives, but for those who still have lives of their own here's what you're missing. Much of this package has been available for download from Electronic arts and other sites for some time, but I'm not confident that such downloads won't delete all my data, pinch my credit card details, ...  Read the complete review
