Advantages: Follows a storyline

Disadvantages: This Sims game can be completed

The Sims Pet Stories is part of The Sims Life Stories series. The idea of the game is that you follow a story line. Pet stories provides two story lines, when you first load the game Alica and Sam are already unlocked, Alice is having problems with a landlord so she needs her loveable but untrained dog Sam to win a dog show. Further into the game but before the end of Alica and Sam you unlock Stephen and Diva. Stephen is a chef who lives a very predictable life, Diva the cat moves in and tries to get him a more active social life. Outside of these story lines the game can be played in free-play mode, a much slimmed down version of Sims 2. This game is a standalone product that does not mix with Sims 2 or any expansion packs.

The game has been designed to be laptop friendly. The specifications are not as powerful as the other Sims games. It requires Windows XP or Vista, a 1.8GHz processor, 512MB memory, 2.7GB hard drive, 8 speed DVD rom, 32MB video card, and DirectX Version 9.0c (included). The way the game is designed means that you can still use other programmes including instant messanger software at the same time. The way the game is played is in the same style as Sims 2.

I personally love these games you can get all the enjoyment of a normal Sims game but with a focus and an actual end to the game. This provides a sense of completion that you can't normally get in a Sims game. The story lines are good, they are broken down into small segments making the game easy to complete as each of the challenges are easy to complete. This means that the game is suitable for the younger players (the game does hold a 12+ rating). I would highly recommend this game as I think this is a very usable and enjoyable Sims product.

Summary: Well worth playing
