Have you ever wanted to be in control of your own home? wanted to control what things you buy and where they go? well with The Sims, You can do just that. The sims is all about controlling and managing little computerized beings who live in their own homes. You choose what they do, eat, when they sleep. Its all down to you on how they live their life. Boring you may think? well you will be deeply shocked as the sims is one of the most playable sim games out there on the games market today. You have total control on their lives, the freedom they have, is controlled by you.

The sims looks like a fairly plain old game at first glance, but once you get playing, you wont stop for weeks, as this is a highly addictive game. The game takes place in a small town outside of simcity. When you first start, you will get to create your own family, and choose which house you live in. There are a number of houses to choose from, such as the normal standard one which all familes can afford, then the bigger they get, the more they cost. So you will have to earn more money before you can move into a bigger apartment for you and the family. A strenous, yet fun task. When you first take a look at the characters, they look no better than any other sim game, but if you leave them alone for a second, then they start to do all sorts of funny old stuff. Such as dancing, starting conversations and even picking their noses. They will all act with personality to whatever they are doing.

The dialogue spoken in the The Sims is meant to sound total gibberish, but, even though you cant make out what they are saying exactly you can still get the jist of it. As their voices will change to what situation they are in. Such as gulping and then thinking of what to say next, yelping when they hurt themselves, laughing a lot when they are watching the television. They will also react with their surroundings perfectly. Even the toilet makes a realistic flushing noise. Everything from the T
v to the coffee maker makes its own individual sound. Some of the sounds they make are hilarious. The background music is also very easy to listen to, it doesnt annoy you and it fits in well with the surroundings, or to what situation that the sims are in.

Each sim has five personality attributes, these change throughout the game. They are (neat, outgoing, active, playful and nice) this helps how the sim does his day and how compatible he is with another sim. They also have six learnable skills (cooking, charisma, working, body, logic and creativity) this will affect how he interacts with objects in the house and how will he can perform his daily job. 10 career paths are available in the sims, this is chosen by his 6 skills and how good he is at them. Once you have goten yourself a job, then a car will arrive daily to pick him up. Getting a job is much advisable, seein as though this is the only form of income to your family.

One of the main objectives in the sims, is to buy things for your home. Any object that you buy, will improve your sim in one way or another. Buying a cooker, will improve your sims meals, buying a mirror will improve charisma etc. Each product has its own funny description, its quite fun to just browse through the products and see their description as some can be hilarious. There is a good variety of products to choose from in this game, and there are lots of additional pierces of appliances for the house available for download on the sims site. You can even build walls, doors and even a new story on top of the house. Building your house well is important as it will fulfill your sims needs. Every sim has 8 needs (hunger, comfort, hygiene, bladder, energy, fun, social, and room) and they have their own status bar which fills up when these needs are met. Whenever these status bars drop in level, your sims will become angry and do less things around the house. Whenever these status bars empty, then your sims may react badly. Henc
e, he may die of starvation, or he may become so depressed that he wont go to work, and will ignore all instructions and tasks given to him.

You must keep your sims happy. This is one of the main aims of the games. If your sims arent happy then they will miss out on the best parts of the game.Which is interaction with other sims characters. When you start the game, The sims you are with will be familiar with each other, This wont be the case with other sims in the area. When you first meet new sims you will be given the option of interacting with them, such as greeting. Then when you become familiar with them, more options will occur. You may choose to have an affair on your neighbours wife etc. But if you are spotted then you will be in trouble with the misses. This is much fun, but somtimes youll feel that you have to keep your sims happy people.

The sims is a very enjoyable game, and comes very cheap nowadays. Various addons are available (ill be doing op on them soon) so this game has unlimited gameplay and you can never run out of things to do. If you liked controlling your own city in simcity, then sims is the one for you. Youll find yourself captivated in a world of small people.

Just got this game and am certainly enjoying it so far, though I haven't quite got the hang of it and my Sims keep wetting themselves, missing work, and getting depressed!
