Advantages: Good management game lots of choices

Disadvantages: Not enough levels

Probably my all time favourite game is Theme Hospital, it is a simulation game and made by Bullfrog the people that brought you great games like Theme Park, Populous and Syndicate amongst others games. The game itself was released in 1997 and was also released later on for the Playstation, you can download it on the Playstation 3 now.

Game play

You play as the administrator of a hospital and you have to build a successful hospital to complete each mission, you have total control over the hospital like where to build rooms, what to research, set prices, hire and firing staff and making patients happy, the list of tasks you need to do is quite large so plenty to keep you busy.

You have to build diagnosis rooms to try and diagnose your patients, if you can not diagnose them you can either send them home or send them to the autopsy room which is always fun. When you have diagnosed them you have to treat them, be carefully though if you spend to long trying to save them they might die in your corridors, whilst doing all this you have to cure contagious diseases and treat emergencies and keep your employees happy whilst balancing the books

Normally to complete a level you have to earn a certain amount of money, treat a certain number of patients and increase the value of your hospital, when you start a level you usually start with an empty hospital and you have to build it up, making sure you have the right rooms in the right play.

The bad points about the game is the AI as even though you set where you want your people and what you want them to do you usually have to move them there yourself as they have a tendency to walk off, just like real life I guess.

Difficulty

The game itself is fairly easy to play to begin with and you should have no problems completing the first few levels although it gets a lot harder as the game goes along as you have to treat more diseases and have far more people coming in requiring treatment and saving them all can be quite challenging

Controls/Graphics

The graphics are surprisingly ok and good enough for what you need, the controls are simple mainly mouse and you get a good view of the hospital allowing easy movement around the hospital.

Multiplayer

The multiplayer is pretty basic you can have to compete against each other to build the better hospital, so a bit like single player but you each play one of the competing hospitals and up to 4 players can play together.

Value for Money

This game is probably the best value for money game I have although, I have brought countless copies of the game over the year either through misplacing or breaking the cd and it has been worth it, even when you have completed the game you still want to play it again.

Summary: Plenty of gameplay, lots of choice a good simulation game
