Advantages: Great gameplay, graphics are still pretty nice

Disadvantages: Problems with saved games, can be a bit samey after a while.

Here is my review for the all time PC classic that is Theme Hospital.

Theme Hospital (PC) is a game that was released in 1997 by EA that sees the user try and climb their way up to the top of the medical ladder! Starting at a rather small GP's office players have to try and build up Hospital's within time constraints and more importantly on a budget!

==== Graphics ====
The graphics on this game are absolutely great! Even now in 2009 they look pretty good! The style is fairly cartoony which is in keeping with the games rather relaxed attitude. Some of the patients with the more exotic diseases are rather humorous!

==== Gameplay ====
The game is played using the mouse to navigate the hospital and to build / erase rooms. Overall this is fairly easy to do and the gameplay is fairly straightforward to understand. One thing which can be challenging is for people to try and deal with epidemics, if you fail you can expect a visit from the local health inspector fairly sharpish! In each situation you are expected to reach targets for the amount of money possessed, number of patients cured and to avoid killing too many patients! Players are given the freedom to hire their own staff ( Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses, Psychiatrists, Handymen and Lecturers. ) Each coming with different ability levels and each requiring a different pay package!

==== Requirements to play ====

Since this game is 12 years old I think it is fair to say it will play on pretty much any computer that was bought within the last 5 years or so, requiring a measly 75 Mhz processing power, 8MB of RAM (16MB if you are playing are Windows XP and Vista) and a massive 55MB of free hard-drive space. I suppose these meagre requirements only makes how good the game is even better!.

==== Price ====

As one would expect now the game has been out for a good 12 years or so it is available fairly cheaply at around £5 under a branch of publishers know as "Sold out software" this is basically a company that re-releases all time classics like Theme Hospital at a budget since they are so old.

==== Availability ====

This game will be available for websites such as Amazon or Play.com and in all good games retailers, although the only one I know for certain that would stock it would be the retailer Game.

==== Main Selling Points ====

Great fun to play, some of the diseases that you find are absolutely hilarious!

It's Cheap! for £5 this is a bargain and worth a punt even if it turns out you don't like it.

Graphically it is still rather good and is aesthetically pleasing.

==== Drawbacks ====

Ok so there are some drawbacks, I have had problems with getting my saved game to load sometimes. There isn't that much variety in what you as the player are actually trying to do which can make the game tiresome if you have been playing for a fair few hours straight.

==== Summary ====

For £5 you need to be sent to a psychiatrist for NOT wanting to buy it!

Summary: Buy it for the love of God buy it!
