This features three different difficultly levels, each progressive level reducing the penalty to the AI cars and lengthening the races and the overall season. My favourite feature is the Support Car Championships, which feature a range of different cars, from Formula Ford to Jaguar supercars, from three-wheeled Scorpions to Fiestas. Graphically the game has indeed dated, with the amazingly blurry re...more

Crowned Review TOCA 2 (PC): Vroom, errrrrr – I wanna go again! (1208 words)

It’s well known that I’m quite keen on all matters petrol related but it’s perhaps less well known that the second word I learnt to say as a nipper was ‘car’, coming before ‘mom’ much to the distress of my poor mother! So it’s no huge surprise I really like this game, based around the insane world of the British Touring Car Championships, which I also really like! * Game Features * Not only does the game feature the BTCC but it also features the support races! I can bat around Silverstone like a maniac in a Ford Fiesta, worrying my mom by saying I’m just practising for the next time I drive her ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Totally Outstanding Car Action… TOCA2 (323 words)
by - written on 06/11/00 (Very useful, 30 readings)
Rating:

This is by far the most underrated games compared to its competitors on the market. It happens to us all some times. We are playing a game like Grand Prix and we are doing really well then disaster strikes, we spin off and by the time we are back on the circuit we have lost all chance of winning. So what do we do, we drive around the wrong way, wishing desperately that we could throw the car around corners and crash into the others cars without ruining our own. If this seems familiar then why on earth are you not playing TOCA 2. Super fast racing 3 abredth the track at 150pmh seeing who hits whom in the corner. Nudging bumping and haranguing the other drivers ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review TOCA 2 (PC): Good Gameplay (133 words)

I got this game recently, I must confess I don't like the hassle of PC games, but Toca 2 is so much better on the Pc than the Playstation - much crisper graphics and the whole customize the colour and design etc. of your car (adverts and sponsors). Also, the game plays well, sure it takes a while to get into the swing of things but once you've practiced enough you'll start enjoying the races. The game itself has loads of modes and a brilliant 4 player split screen mode, which, adds depth to an already impressive title. And all for £15. Not as much a classic as Some other racers, but I'd recommend it to you. Perhaps, Toca 3 might be even better! Also, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 10 out of 10 for Codemasters (82 words)
by - written on 09/07/00 (Very useful, 12 readings)
Rating:

Toca Touring Cars 2 is an great game. The graphics are reasonable for a dated game and the game play is brilliant. You can change so much in you car set-up and you can feel the difference which makes this racing game from Codemasters so realistic. I play it on my steering wheel as I find it a lot easier o control the steering. The two player is good although it generally tends to be unfair unless you have two steering wheels. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review TOCA 2 (PC): Oi! Watch the paintwork (391 words)
by - written on 01/07/00 (Very useful, 17 readings)

Ahhhhh, the smell of burning rubber, the scraping of door against door, the balletic grace of spinning around on the grass. I love touring cars. As a spectator sport its awesome. There’s little difference in speed of the cars, you can fall back 10 places in one corner, only to make up 4 the next corner. It makes a change to F1. And the same goes for TOCA2. The world is littered with F1 games, rally games etc… Only Codemasters tried something different with Toca 1 and now they’ve improved on it in TOCA 2. This sequel is basically the same as the original but it is still worth buying. The graphics are much improved and if you have a reasonably ...  Read the complete review
