Tony Hawks Pro Skateboard 2 (PC)

This game is incredably addictive and absolutely huge. Although the very thing that makes it so addictive also allows it to become slightly monotonous after a while. The in-game music is very well chosen, some of the best I've ever been priveledged to hear. It is a selection of punk and hip hop, generally skating music. It has a large variety of levels (skateparks or city streets) and even has a skatepark editor. Each level comes with a new set of tasks to perform. It was without hesitation that I went to the shop on the day of this games release to purcahse it. I had already played the first game (to death!) on the Playstation. I had also played the demo of the 2nd one via the PC and was very very impressed. It's performance on my then average PC was also impressive. Well, what makes this game so good, for a start the graphics. Though they may not be cutting edge their is a certain appeal to them. Okay, well this my very first game review, so if it isn’t great, then sorry, I am trying my best, I usually try and do music reviews, but I am attempting to add an extra skill to my review writing. WHAT A GREAT GAME!!! Ever since I got Tony hawks 2 there hasn't been a day I've not played it. So, you may ask, whats new in this game so that he cannot pull himself away from it? My answer to that would be eveything and nothing! Here we go: Career mode: As in the old one you have levels to complete. The more you complete the further along the game you go. You complete the levels by doing certain 'tasks'. There are 10 tasks in each level. Many of todays youth are all too happy to find their nearest public stairway and handrail, and grind all day, much to the annoyance of the rest of humanity. I could never see the attraction of this, until I played Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2. After my brother purchased this game earlier this year, I found myself glued to my PC for days, trying to perfect my "indie grab", and "nosebone" but to name a few of the many moves on THPS2.
