Trackmania has the largest number of registered racers than any other racing game on PC or any other gaming console. It's a free game but there is an upgrade to get extra stuff. Trackmania isn't an ordinary racing game. You can go up hoops, do 500 foot leaps, spin to take shortcuts, barrel roll to cut tracks and hundreds more. This is one of my favorite games.
You can race on the one track with over 150 people which is really cool. It get's a little crowded. You don't bump into cars, you simply go through them as if they were a ghost. This works a lot better than it sounds as you would be bumping into other cars constantly with the mount of racers that play on different servers.
There is a single player where you can earn 4 different types of medals on lot's of different complex tracks that get unlocked when you have got a high enough medal on the previous track section. There is boosts on the track that let you speed up. You can reach over 500MPH and the frame rate goes super fast. Top run the game in best quality and run over 60FPS you will need a good computer and graphics card.
The installation is simple and easy. You must make a Trackmania Username. You can change your Username and change the color and style of your username. The controls are simple, arrows to steer and it's quite sensitive and flexible but realistic. You press Enter to go back to the last checkpoint or Back to restart track. On servers you can speak to everyone and lot's of servers have statistics like best times and most races won by the certain person.
The upgrade to "United" gives you customizable cars and more but Nations will do you fine. You can create your own server and track which is one of the biggest features of Trackmania. There are hundreds of creation abilities and you can make your track insane, hundreds of feet in the air with 50 loops, and 200 foot drops with somersault ramps and more!
You can add friends on it and talk to them. There are hundreds of servers so you will always find people to play with. The game is suitable to all and is a fantastic epic racer that challenges you to beat your personal time and online times. There are different game modes and there are online rankings for countries and global. You earn "LP" Ladder Points for doing good in races and the more you earn the higher you get in the ranking. Your ranking is displayed every match and whenever anyone can see your name so getting high on the leader-boards is a proud and fun achievement to accomplish.
Trackmania is a racing game for PC which can be played online. Unlike other racing games, all cars have the same stats, so there is no advantage in what car you have. In fact, the only difference between the cars is the colour, which you can design yourself, though others will only see a nation's flag worked around the car.
The cars are very much like F1 cars, and we have had the talk from the people who build F1 cars that thehy could drive upside down. Well, in Trackmania it is actually possible. Due to the unique way tracks are created - by player creation on a player created server - some of them have parts where there are loops, walls to drive on and even tunnels which require you to drive upside down. The cars are extremely fast and precision comes into play, especially when on a shorter track. Some races come down to the 100th of a second, this is because the races are in a time trial format, where a certain amount of time is given to get the best time possible. If your time is good enough it will be uploaded to the server for that track.
Not only is there the multiplayer online mode, but also a single player mode with the same objective, to get the quickest time. If you get below a certain time, you will be rewarded with a medal.
All of your accomplishments add up to give you your ranking. Other than this, there is no reward.
This is a free game, but there is also a one off purchase version, where you can further customize your cars' looks, allow others to see your customizations and also a race for coppers mode, where you bet coppers on a race.
This game is definately worth downloading, despite its download time, even just to have a go. Make sure you have a decent internet connection and customize the settings to match your PC specifications so that it runs smoothly.
TMN is my favourite racing game of all time!
In a nut shell: you repeatedly race the same track for 15 minutes with 40 other people, trying to beat your time and theirs. You get a worldwide ranking based on your total score all time, you earn score points by coming high up the rankings in an individual 15 minute session.
The principle sounds too simple to be fun, afterall you get nothing but your worldwide rank to show for any of it! The reality is extremely fun, the cars are so fast you struggle to keep up, the tracks send you through the air then down to 180 degree corners, its sheer madness!
The races entirely compose of player made tracks picked by the server owners, they are usually really fun with deliberate twists and turns that take days to master. After just a week I was ranked #50 in the UK and extremely chuffed with myself. The competitism of it is very neutral, people congratulate each other and ask for hints and tips, you can watch someone else if you run out of ideas.
You can customise your cars appearance and sounds or have a bash at building your own track. Everyone constantly maintains a level playing field other than the experience they've gained by sheer practice.
The first thing to note about this game is its price. Its free!!! For all you racing game loving fans download it now, after all, all it costs is time. Moving on, the game itself is excellent. It's tracks arent traditional but more exciting with the tracks having loops and extraordinary loops. With the game you can play by yourself, another person at the same computer (party mode) and online with countless racers. The single player mode has a perfect difficulty curve with over 50 tracks which are all divided into seperate colours to illustrate their difficulty. As a nice add on, your also given a single player ranking so you can see how you have done in comparison to the rest of thwe world.
Online the game is extremely addictive with you constanly striving to beat the best. The graphics are excellent and beat many commercial games whereas the sound is average, after all it is just a racing game so theres the average engine rrrr sound here and there. With excellent handling and gameplay the game is a must for ths who want something new for free.
TrackMania Nations Forever (TMNF) is a free racing game available as a 100% free download from its developer Nadeo. The download is around 7-800 MB, so not too much if you have a fast Internet connection. You can find it by searching for the title, or like I did by finding it on Steam.
In order to play the game you need to create a free account for yourself, this allows for you to login from anywhere and compare your rankings with other players from around the world.
There are three different game modes - Solo, Online, and Party. Solo allows for you to play through the tracks built into the game, around 65 built in. Each track is based upon a time trial, and the faster you go the better your score (medal). Online allows for you to play against players from all over the world, and party allows for you to create your own "private party" and play against people who you know.
The selection of cars goes as far as different liveries depending on the country which you are from - not much in terms of customisation, but its free!
There are plenty of tracks built in to play on & work through, but once you get bored of these there are always plenty more to chose from, and in addition to this there is a track editor, allowing for you to create & share your own.
Initially there seems relatively little purpose in creating an account, but upon winning medals it will then show your ranking within the world/country, and even down to region.
The graphics are reasonably good, even on a pretty old computer, so it isn't too demanding.
Overall I'd say this is a pretty good game, especially considering it's free. Definitely nothing compared to others such as Need for Speed, but they are pretty expensive in comparison!
Trackmania Nations Forever (TMN:F) is the updated version of Nadeo's original free racing game Trackmania Nations. TMN:F is still a free download availiable from Nadeo's official Trackmania website. The game is freely availiable due to the Trackmania's in-game advertising as well Nadeo's partnership with the Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC).
The game is playable in both single player and multiplayer modes although the game is geared mostly towards the multiplayer arena.
Single Player : The game originally has over 100 maps created by Nadeo. The aim of single player is to beat the track times set by the game developers. The are millions of other maps able to be downloaded and played in single player, so players need not ever play online to be captivated for hours.
Multiplayer : This is where TMN:F really comes into it's element. Due to the game being a free download, there are over 2 million active accounts and about 100,000 players online at any one time. What sets Trackmania apart from other games in it's genre is the in-game ranking system. All players who join an online game are given a rank. You start with 0 points and accumulate points by winning or finishing highly in races. With over 1000 servers running, players will always find a match to suit them. One could either race against a single other player, or against 200.
TMN:F has 3 game modes
Time Attack : Players are given a set amount of time in which to set the best time around the track. Whichever players sets the fastest time, wins the game.
Laps : Players are given a set time in which to drive the most laps.
Rounds : A dash to the finish, first player to reach the finish wins the round. The winner receives 10 points, second receives 8, etc. The first player to reach the points limit wins the game.
Team Rounds: The same as rounds except the players are put into teams.
Trackmania is made to be more of an arcade game than a driving simulator, so although the graphics are in no way realistic, the game has a very sophistic engine, such that the physics of the cars are extremely realistic. Cars accelerate, brake, move etc in much the same way as a real racing car would. As the controls are simply the directional keys, the game is extremely easy to learn and terribly addictive.
All in all a fantastic game to play, and of course seeming as it's free, definately worth a try.
Trackmania Nations Forever is the newest chapter in the trackmania saga, is totally free to play, you can simply download it from the website or do a google search for "trackmania nations forever download" and you will find a list of server who have the game to download.
The graphic is very nice and clear , the cars are very well designed, tracks are well done and at least on the basic you will surely have fun
the playability of the game is great, just set up how you want to see the car with the button 1-2-3 , you can see it from behind or like you are on the inside of the car driving it, the game is very easy to play, very fast and very difficult if you want to compete with the best driver, the car movement are well done , the most difficult part is that the game is so fast you will probably in many tracks have to go without using the brakes or get a lot behind the others if you just touches them.
Trackmania uses various kind of multiplayer, the most used it's the time mode, you simply have to get the fastest lap, there is a point championship mode where you have to play the same track and every time you are awarded point in f1 style, the last mode is simply to play a track and have the standings like a normal f1 race with time and everything.
In multiplayer you will not have contact like a formula1 race game but instead you will simply see ghost cars of opponent, being trackmania a game where even 99 playes gat on the same track at the same time, i guess this was the only way to do it.
Trackmania is probably one of the most replayable game you can ever play, there always new track built by users, not all of them will be nice but many of them are, there are a lot of tracks in the game and so on, you will probably have a hard time find a more replayable game.
There three different game modes:
a) play solo: you can play different tracks to get better, for every track you can choose a ghost car, and if you beat it you get a medal, bronze if you beat the slower cpu, gold if you beat the fastest(the lap are memorized so the time will always be the same for the pc)
b) Multiplayer Mode: you can play on the net against real opponent, just choose the server you like and start to play, the easier way to do so if to click on the suggested and choose one.
c) Lan Mode/ more player on the same pc: I actually never tried this so I can't give you an exact explanation, anyway it probably do what the name says.
The older trackmania had a protection called Starforce that would probably create trouble on your pc, this one does not, so you can download it and play it freely without any problem.
