If you're going to buy it don't pay over £5

Your character is Nick Kang, a detective who isn't afraid not to follow the rules in order to catch crooks. Unfortunately you were suspended for this for some time but now you're back to work in LA. You're initially asked to investigate some recent bombings that took place in Chinatown. As the game goes on you'll see how a range of criminals are tied in.

There is a good/bad element to the game and your actions will determine how the story flows. There are three possible endings; a good ending, a bad ending and an average ending.

There are training facilities around the city at which you can complete challenges to earn skills. This is something you'll have to pay attention to as it can become very difficult to complete levels if you don't spend time earning skills.

The game is somewhat similar to GTA but nowhere near as interesting. The storyline starts off well but you lose interest around three quarters of the way through it. There's no real connection with the characters. The sound is quite good but the graphics are a let down both in terms of variety and quality (far too many people and vehicles which are identical).

You should be able to buy this pretty cheap now, £5 max new but I'm not sure I'd pay £5 for it. Although the game is long I just couldn't immerse myself in it.

I have posted this review on Ciao.

In True Crime: Streets of L.A., players assume the role of rogue Elite Operations Division (EOD) operative Nick Kang, a no-holds-barred badass, whose brutal reputation and lethal skills have landed him the nasty task of taking down the Chinese Triad and Russian Mafia cartel that has turned the City of Angels into a war zone. Take part in explosive gun battles with double-fisted fire power, devastating martial-arts brawls and high-speed shoot-outs across 250 square miles of accurately recreated LA. In car or on-foot, the unique branching missions include locating hostile witnesses, searching for case-cracking clues, taking out evasive informants and busting the heavily armed and deadly bad guys.
