Advantages: Ragdoll Physics, Amazing Detail, Replayable
Disadvantages: Limited Number of maps, Needs a good system for detail!
UT2003. This game is supposedly a high spec game for your PC. This seems to be a myth, as it will play on everyones system, but admittedly, it looks a hell of a lot better on your average supercomputer. But dispite this fact, it is a very good game all the same. The storyline is basically you are part of a hyper-violent sport, where contestants try to shoot each other, and generally mess each other up (fun with the ragdoll physics, as I will explain later!). You can do this in a variety of places in a variety of arenas with several different weapons, each with their own killer function. My first mention will be the single player game. In this, you get to build up your own team, which you can select from for combatants, and trade around players, as and when during the course of the game. You play in various modes, and tournaments, from the simple Capture the Flag, to a more advanced game called bombing run. The major functions are 1.) Deathmatch. This is where you and your team run around a level, and blow away anything that isn't on your side. Team with the most kills at the end wins! Easy! This gives you an opertunity to practice some of the finer points of the gameplay, such as team control, and communications. This is the ice breaker into the world of Unreal! 2.)Capture the Flag. Simple, grab the flag, and run for your base! 3.)Bombing Run! This is a new feature is quite advanced! You need to grab the ball, which replaces your gun, and run into the enemy base, and try and score a goal! thisis harder than it sounds, as you need to control your allies to help you. 4.)Domination. This is a mode that I have never come across before. This is where you have to control a certain number of checkpoints in order to win this, and score. This tests your skill at controling a team with basic commands. With a sliding scale of AI throughout the game, it is a great game in single player, and even better online! The weapons are
something to be mentioned. From Immensely powerful mini nukes, and Satallite based weaponry, to a shield gun, there is definite variety! With amazing graphics in location, characters, and ragdoll physics, something that lets the characters flop around as if in real gravity, makes this game supreme!
