Advantages: Chance to explore Springfield .
Disadvantages: Not challenging enough.
The idea is to collect keys and important items so that you can go to different places. There are 74 cards with all the stars from Springfield and it even has itchy and stratchy and there is an award for getting them all, Dont know what exactly .At the start you are introduced by the famous Troy Mclure which you may remember him from the Simpson's .Once you have got him out of the way you are free to explore the town of Springfeild. There are seventeen places to go, all from the Simpsons, although I think there are a lot of places the game has missed out.
SIMPSONS HOME: Look at all the possible details of the simpson's house and hang out in the family's bedrooms.
FLANDERS HOME: Possess flander's children or play a game at his bar.
KWIK-E-MART: Watch homer stock up on duff beer and play a simpsons version of Doom.
NOISELAND ARCADE: There are four mini-games that are playable. Larry the looter, Smite of the bumblebee, super slugfest and Krusty's karnival kash.
SPRINGFEILD ELEMENTARY: Check out Bart & Lisa's schoolrooms, as well as looking at what Skinner has confiscated.
MOES TARVAN: Mix a flaming Moe, try out the love tester machine or listen to Moe get prank calls from Bart.
LIBRARY: Watch videos (presented by Troy McClure) or just read a book.
STONE CUTTERS: Get a ring to access this cult. Listen to the famous song.
AZTEC THEATRE: Throw Dummy bears at the audiance which is great fun. There's a great McBain movie on, which repeats again and again and again.
TOWN HALL: Take a peek in the Mayor Quimby's office.
TOWN SQUARE: Where the game starts. The infamous statue of Jebidiah Springfield is in the backdrop.
POWER PLANT: Sector 7G or Mr. Burns' office is accessible at this plant. Play a game where Homer chucks donuts at his control panel
CHURCH: Bore yourself to death with Reverend Lovejoy's sermon.
CEMETRY: Check out the telescope and look out into space or see dead zombies.
RETIRMENT CASTLE:Look at what the old folks do and see whats in granpa Simpsons draws.
KRUSTY STUDIOS:Watch itchy and scratchy or take a look at the news which is the same every time.
GORGE:The Gorge lets you look at Springfield from a pair of binoculars which is totally cool.
Can't find your way around? Well there is a map showing where you are so you do not get lost. The music constantly repeats the tune to the simpsons which takes time getting used to but is O.K.But if it gets really annoying then turning the volume right down may be the best idea but i wouldn't suggest that. The graphics are better than on the T.V series i feel because the buildings are in 3.D.
I didn't find virtual springfield very addictive but i sometimes go back to play on it and it is great fun.
If you are looking for a challange from a game then its best to avoid this one but if you are a real simpsons fan then this would be a good one as it has some hilarious moments.
Summary: Welcome to Springfield.
