I am a sucker for playing the free trial games found on the internet. I came across Virtual Villagers when I was browsing a couple of weeks ago. The option was there to either download for free to gain an hour's gameplay, or you could choose to pay the approx £10 for the actual game. Virtual Villagers is a sim management game. There are a tribe of six villagers lost on a deserted island called Iosa, after their boat capsized. This island is now their home and they have to survive, using basic skills, and also learning new ones along the way. In steps you to train these little creatures. The game is set in one place which in effect is ... Read the complete review

This is a simulation/strategy game. The idea is that you are marooned on an island and you have to build a community. You start with 6 people and you have to build more. The graphics are cute, and there are loads of tasks for you to do. The games plays in real time, so you can switch on for 5 minutes, see how all your villagers are doing and then go back to work. Allegedly. Trouble is, it's addictive. From your original six villagers you can create a tribe of, I think 200, and you can build various dwellings (or rather you help the villagers learn to build, then they do it themselves). You have to develop your food production methods to support ... Read the complete review

I am one of these people who love to play strategy games. Even more so when you actually have to make something of the game. Now I was searching through all kinds of game sites when I came across Virtual Villagers - A New Home. As with most games like these you always get a free trial, usually 1 hours worth. Once the hour is up, the game will automatically close and give you the option to buy, You are looking at roughly 10 pounds to buy the full version of this game This is the only thing about down loadable games that I get frustrated with. All the hard work and effort you put into a game and then the game is ... Read the complete review

Yet another game designed around allowing you to play god, this time to a stranded tribe on an isolated desert island. If you liked the Sims, you’ll love this slightly more hands-off version. This game has a new (for me anyway) twist, it runs when you’re not there! Ideal for killing time at work or giving yourself something other than internet shopping to look forward to, this rates as high on the addiction scale. If you don’t believe me, you can try it yourself for free! TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NO MAN; Yesteday morning I began gaming. Things seemed quite straightforward – you pick up and drop the villager on the site associated with the action you ... Read the complete review

~~ INTRODUCTION ~~ I was playing a game on the pc the other day and when I had closed down the game there was a pop up telling me about new games etc, so I thought I would go on the site and take a look. The game that catched my eye the most was virtual villagers I read about it before downloading the trial version of the game, and seemed to be my kind of game, so thought I would give it ago. ~~ DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING ~~ You can download a 60 minute trial version from http://www.bigfishgames.com/downloads/virtualvillagers/ …. Once you have downloaded the trial version then you are ready to begin the installing procedure. Just double ... Read the complete review
