Advantages: Graphics superior to any other game I have seen!!!!!!!, Amazing levels of detail., Many hours, if not days of uncontrolled, unplanned gameplay.
Disadvantages: Screen switching wastes some time., Night-time inhibits human gameplay.
This game is brilliant!!!!!!! Set is victorian England you have a choice to control the movements of either the defensive Human or invading Martian civilizations. The human civilization is based around the defence of the British isles after an advancing alien army takes root upon Earth in the Grampian mountains in Scotland. You are incharge of British resource productions in the form of Coal, Oil and Steel. You are also in charge of factory and building creation such as shipyards, vehicle factories and aircraft hangars. You are also in charge of the movements of countless batteries of earthly vehicles. You assume three roles, four if you class the research of new vehicles, weaponry, buildings and advancements. Or if you preffer you can govern the technologically advanced martians which are based in central Scotland and aim towards the conquest of London. Like the humans you assume many roles, except there are variations such as the exploitation of blood, copper and heavy elements, and yes the blood is HUMAN!!! Like the humans also you have to research and develop new vehicles and machines except they are far more advanced. War of the Worlds is very realistic and has excellent graphics concerning vehicles and machines not to mention the uncanny quality of the UK's terrain and landforms. Light and dark also have an effect on one's gameplay, but the martian's night vision gives an obvious advantage. This game has been developed for people who are into GOOD games and will not settle for anything second rate and at just under forty pounds is a star buy. Enjoy. Thunderchild
