WarCraft II: Tides of Darkness is a real time strategy game for the PC was released in 1995 by Blizzard Entertainment and it is the second game in the Warcraft series. The game when released was only single player.
The game is set in a fantasy medieval type world and you play as either the fictional orcs or as the humans. For people that have played the original game this one is set six years after the fall of Azeorth where the last game finished off.
There is 28 original levels, each side has a campaign of 14 levels each and every level has a different objective be it to conquer an area, hold an area or repair an area.
The main part of the game is building an army to destroy the opposition, you do this by collecting resources like oil, gold and lumber, improving building and technology to build more powerful and better units. You can also align yourself with minor races which help you during certain missions depending on which side you are, like the humans can ally with elves and the orcs can ally with goblins.
Each side has units that are pretty similar in design and capability to each other, so each side is pretty much balanced by the similarity of units. A new addition to the game is the naval units which are also pretty balanced. As in the other game you can also have heroes on certain missions who have vastly improved skills and strengths, but when they are killed the mission is automatically failed.

The controls are pretty easy to use most of it is controlled by the mouse, the graphics are basic and the fog of war is a good addition to the game.,
Difficulty
The AI is not really that good so you do not need to be a master tactician to complete this game, a bit of patience and practice and most players should be able to complete it fairly easily.
