Dark Omen is a real time Warhammer Fantasy style game (the same as the traditional table top battle game) where you have a set number of units (groups of troops) and your objective is to destroy the enemy (in this game the armies of the Undead) units on that particular map (a square of land with rivers and villages etc. on), as the game proceeds you are issued more units of different types of troops and you get gold from battle so you can afford to purchase more units of troops and upgrades for you current troops on you army:
Foot Solider:
A solider with a sword and shield or a pike, these come in varying skill levels
Archer:
A normal troop but with a bow rather than a sword
Horseback Troops:
As the name suggests, troops on horseback, these also come in varying skill levels
Cannons:
There are different types, but all are manned by two workers.
Wizards:
There are many different wizards of different skill levels, they cast spells and the high the skill level the more powerful the spells can be.
War Machines:
There are several different types of war machines from catapults to steam tanks.
The graphics in the game are quite good, the game play is reasonably easy though it can be hard to navigate round the landscape when you have units in several places round the map, all fighting!
