Advantages: Its not WoW, great RvR, real feel of battle, matue community
Disadvantages: PvE isnt as good as like of WoW and community is smaller than likes of WoW.
Before I write his I feel I need to make this clear, this is NOT World of Warcraft. It is a different game entirley and is a much World of Warcraft as Gran Turismo is Burnout. Same type of game but different ideas.
The main focus of WAR is RvR (PvP to other folk) which sees the forces of Order (Empire, Dorfs and High Elves) pit their skills against Destruction (Greenskins, Chaos and Dark Elves) each race has 4 unique classes which breaks down into something for everyone, (a tank type, Melee type, ranged type and healer/dps hybrid). There is a great variety in this game and a lot of different ways to play to your own style. Coming from 4 years of WoW, mostly in PvE raiding I wasn't sure what to expect being a bit of a PvP novice. That all changed as soon as I took part in my first keep siege which felt like an epic battle to say the least about 30 v 30 in open area PvP.
You can get straight into the PvP action from level 1 and killing other players is very much a part of levelling up. You can play without taking part in RvR but in all honesty you wont get the full experience and you may be better trying another game like Warcraft where you can opt out and it is not as vital to progression.
The levelling is split up into 4 tiers (1-11, 12-21, 22-31, 32-40) where you will fight against others of a similar level range, to cut down on gankers (killing much lower level players) they implemented a chicken system so if someone more than 2 tiers above you tries to hit you they get turned into a chicken, though be careful it doesnt mean they are harmless they peck hard :p.
The quests sytem is standard like in almost all MMORPG's and is the norm.
All in all well worth it if you are fed up with WoW or are looking for something a bit different from EQ, WoW etc.
Summary: Well worth a shot though a high spec PC is required. Nice change away from WoW if you like PvP
