“ Developed by Hothouse and published by Eidos Interactive, this is the pc version of the television gameshow. And if you haven't seen the gameshow on telly before, it's a very simple premise: answer 15 questions correctly in a row and win a million pounds! Unfortunately, you don't actually get any money in this version but apart from not actually winning anything the game's the same. „

This allows you and your friends or family to play the worldwide hit quiz show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire. When you start the game, you can select from a few options. These include the possibility to play "Fastest Finger First", allowing you to compete against your friends and family. Alternatively, you can jump straight in to the game at the £100 question. If you haven't watched this show before, the aim is to answer 15 multiple choice questions correctly to win the jackpot of £1,000,000. Each question has 4 possible answers. You can use various lifelines along the way. 50/50 takes away two random wrong answers. Ask the Audience let's you see what the 100 members of the studio audience think the answer is. On the computer game, this is shown in the form of a graph. Finally, there is phone-a-Friend. Of course, in a game, it's not really possible to phone a real person and for the computer to understand what is going on. So, a pretend phone call takes place and you are given the pretend person's answer. It is up to you if you trust them or not! If you get to £1,000 (answer 5) or £32,000 (answer 10), then you are guaranteed to take at least that sum of pretend money away with you. One major issue with this game however is that it was released way back in 2000. So, alot of the questions are no longer valid and are out of date. Another issue is that the animation is not the best. All that you see is two empty chairs, though you hear Chris Tarrant's voice. Chris however does not read the questions out in this version of the game, and instead you have to read the questions and answers on the screen. An improved version of this game was released in 2001. This is called Who Wants to be a Millionaire 2nd Edition. An improvement in this version is that Chris now reads out all of the questions and possible answers, making for slightly better realism. The animations still aren't the best though.
