Advantages: Buckets of content, beautiful art direction and fluid and concrete game play.

Disadvantages: Addictive to some and the balancing issues that plauge online games apparent here.

World of Warcraft currently stands as the most popular massive multiplayer online role playing game to date. If you're not familiar with the concept of an MMORPG, think hugely complex, detailed and fully integrated world in which you interact with other characters played by real people, offering a uniquely social gaming experince. World of Warcraft as the front runner in the format offers something for everyone. Choosing to either align yourself with the Horde or the Alliance, and selecting one of ten different races and nine different classes, the player can quest their way through the stunningly mapped world. With hundreds of quests, complex dungeons only manageable with the help of others, player-versus-player content and powerful weapons to aquire, World of Warcraft offers a wealth of varied and exciting game play. Essentially the game has no end as once the level cap is reached, a variety of new content becomes available (and for purchasers of the expansion The Burning Crusade, new content is added at frequent intervals). The game will appeal to both casual and hard-core gamers. At £8.99 per month on top of your original purchase, the game may seem a little pricey but at under 30p a day (many players access the game daily) it seems a steal for the level of content offered. World of Warcraft has had its share of bad press about its potential addictive nature but parents are offered through the account management the option of sophisticated parental controls, limiting game play. Buy this and the expansion, The Burning Crusade, and experince why this has become the most popular online subscription game in history.

Summary: The most popular MMORPG around, a unique, social and inviting game.

Good review. It's quite a good game but gets too addicting and wastes your life...
