Advantages: New races, New level cap, New areas to explore, Flying mounts

Disadvantages: Too similar to the original game

World of Warcraft: The burning Crusade is the first World of Warcraft expansion released in 2007.

The burning crusade offers:

- A new level cap of level 70
- New skills and proffesions
- All new quests, raids and areas
- Flying mounts

The new alliance race are called the Draenei. They're an alien race who came to azeroth to escape their home. Draenei's can now play as a Shaman which you could never do as an Alliance before! The starting area is certainly alot better than the old races, quests and landscape quality have improved quite abit. The race models are somewhat upgraded too but it's mainly just the animations of the races that have improved and not the overall look.

The next new race are the blood elfs, former nights who have become corrupted through magic. The blood elfs also feature a new starting area and allow you to play a paladin on the horde side. Blood elfs are probably my favourite characters due to their stylish anime styled look, plus paladins are cool right?

Once you reach level 58 you can go to the new land; outlands. Here lies new areas, quests and the all new flying mounts (although you can only fly them in outlands and not outside of it) Flying mounts are also very expensive for the fastest versions which is another annoying thing for me. Take note that no one does raids at level 60 anymore so it's almost forced to buy this expansion, same goes for the new one; wrath of the lich king! Alot of the monsters here are just reused ones with new textures which blizzard tends to do alot. Most of the content isn't new either, but it's something to do if you already reached the endgame. You may find it a little repetative and grindy as I did. Blizzard got a little lazy here and I was expecting more, but it's still something every WoW fan should have.

Summary: Decent expansion, worth having if you want more content
