Advantages: Xcom! Aliens

Disadvantages: More of the same!

As much as I love the original Xcom (or UFO as it was calle over here!), I never really played the sequel until this year. I tracked it down on an auction site, on 3.5" discs nonetheless, and set about playing it while I was at home over Christmas, on a bog standard 486.

I was pleasantly surprised. The addition of a newish aliens and water/land weapons was a good move, but overall it feels like the same game again. The atmosphere never quite feels as good, but the rest of the game is true to it's prequel, and if it ain't broke, what's to fix. Worth picking up on budget, or as part of the XCom boxset, if you don't have all the others already.

The other slight problem I have is with the ranks, they just don't sound as good as UFOs, but that's just me to tell the truth.
