The follow up to the very early original PC strategy game 'Z', 'Z: Steel Soldiers' is essentially the same game only massively updated, with some very nice 3D-Accelerated graphics replacing the lo-res 2d visuals of its predecessor, also introducing with a new fully rotatable view of the battlefield. The game centers around two warring robot factions battling it out for territory, and once again the game has a strong 2000AD feel and humour about it, with amusing cutscenes featuring the Commander Zodd- essentially a cross between Judge Dredd and the Drill Sargeant from Full Metal Jacket. An eagerly awaited release in its time courtesy of the creators the Bitmap Brothers past games. Z is basically a game based on a similar strategy engine to Command and Conquer. Your aim as the commander of your robot forces is to annihilate the enemy forces and take control of all the planets in your way. You can destroy the enemy on any given level in one of two ways.
