Advantages: Great Fun, Lots Of Ages Will Enjoy This, Good Controls, Bargain Price.

Disadvantages: None.

Zoo Tycoon is one of those games that brings back fond memories of my teenage years (which have all now passed - boo hoo!) as I used to play it fairly regularly as on a teenager and have probably owned the game two or three times and then lent it out to people never to receive it back.

This game is a simulation game where you have to build and manage a zoo, hence the name 'zoo tycoon'. The game is available on a couple of different computer platforms but the one that I play, and hence am reviewing, is the PC version. This is available from Amazon for just £1.99 at present and it's too much of a bargain to resist really, especially if you want something to fill your time with.

The gameplay is fairly simple and when you begin the game you have the option to play some tutorials and then you begin to play some real levels with real aims. This can be anything from mating a specific type of animal to raising a specific amount of money and the aims are different in each level as well as you having different amounts of time to complete the levels in. There are some hard levels and some easier ones and each one has a rating and I find these ratings to be quite accurate.

The controls are quite easy to master and everything you need to know is taught to you during the tutorials and there are lots of handy hints and pointers on the screen throughout games.

As I said above I have been playing this game since I was a teenager and it came out in 2001, when I was 13, so it's fair to see that young teenagers and older children will be able to play this as well without any difficulty. Most of the reading is quite simple, however, there may be the odd species of animal that a child or young teenager may not be familiar with.

Overall I love this game, there are lots of animals and lots of different exhibitions and cage types etc, there is plenty to keep me occupied and I usually play this for a fair few months before I become a little bored again and don't play it for another few months or something. The game does always end up back on my laptop/pc and it's one I'm sure I'll love for years to come!

I am going to rate this game 5/5 as it's great fun for many ages and even as a 21 year old I still have the odd burst on it now and again! It's available for a bargain price too so there really is no reason not to buy it!

Summary: A Fantastic Game For Lots Of Ages.

I think this is one of my alltime favourite games, I liked the challenges and my children just liked building zoos so it suited everyone. x

My two have been playing this for a couple of years, so it's definitely suitable for quite young kids.
