I was really impressed when I was looking for my power supply. I know Corsair are a good make and I had sort of settled on the TX850W for my new PC. However I was nervous, I know how I love to add hard drives and gadgets etc, plus knowing the capabilities of my motherboard I thought I better read up some more on it, and see if I should go for the 1000W version. I went to Corsairs website and they had a power calculator. This was extremely useful. I found out if I had 10 hard drives, massively overclocked my PC, but had 1 graphics card (my primary intention) I would only need 650W, however if I did add a second graphics card I would need an 850W. So really by having this I was happy with the price, but also very happy knowing had some scope for upgrades (I really doubt I'll ever g to 2 graphics cards, and if I do it can still handle it.
I just opened the box to install it in my lovely new Coolermaster HAFX 942 case, when I was dumbstruck. I lifted the foam to revel some cables as you'd expect and the power supply inside a bag, a felt bag, a felt bag just like you would get if buying top of the line Diamonds from a top of the line jewellers. The felt bag is lovely, with a cool, Corsair logo on
The power supply came with plenty of plugs on it for everything you could need. There were 4 for the PCI-E cards, 2 SATA cables with 4 connectors on each cable, plenty for future upgrades if I am ever to have 8 SATA devices (only currently got 3) and 2 Peripheral cables with 5 4pin plugs on each for fans and general devices. As this case had plenty of fans they came in very useful.
This PSU has been operating for 2 weeks now, very nicely. It is nice and cool, it handles all the power with no problem. I would thoroughly recommend this as a power supply unit for any powerful system. I am very impressed with Corsair overall. It also doesn't help that it comes with a 5 year warranty and a lifetime of technical support.
Not bad for just under £100
Summary: A good PSU for a good price
