Advantages: Built like a tank
Disadvantages: Wires aren't that flexible
I bought this to run my latest GeForce 8800GT graphics card and at 500W it's got loads of oomph to power lots of things.
Let's go through what you actually get:
3x SATA connecters
4x 4-pin Molex connectors
6-pin (12v) PCI-E power connector
4-pin (12v) ATX CPU fan power connector
20/24-pin ATX motherboard connector
Floppy connector
...a UK power cord, some screws and the PSU itself.
Well it seems to run my graphics card ok but has some boot trouble which could be the problem with the graphics card but when it does boot, the PSU runs the card fine. It seems ok with two hard drives (1 SATA & 1 IDE) and a DVD re-writer drive including my graphics card.
Build quality wise, the actual PSU casing and all inside is built like a tank and the connectors seem to be strong with some decent wire. The power cables are covered in a weird mesh to protect them and keep them together and you also get in the box a Velcro loop to keep the cables tidy.
Overall I like the design (although who's going to look), I think the build quality is excellent. The 500 watts of power is more than enough and what's more it comes with a three year 'swap out' warranty which means if it goes bang they give a new one for free.
Summary: Great 500W PSU for most entry level gamers
