In Abbey Life's stupidity, they have lost my passport, sent to them for identification purposes, and refuse to help track it down. The consequenses are that I've lost my job and are about to lose my home because I am now considered to be an illegal alien by the US immigration services. Instead of returning it to me by courier, they sent it Recorded Delivery by Royal Mail. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. They have also put every obstacle in my way to stop me getting my rightful pension. What a crappy company.
About time you joined the 21st centuary, I retire tomorrow and with the postal disruption not guarenteed to get the info I need to give pension credit, get a bloody email so I can receive it that way and print it off. Keith Moseley
I started an Abbey Life Pension in 1985. The big advantage was that in 2007 the annuity rate is almost double that available now. However, I wanted retire after my 57th birthday in July. The delays, including " please confirm your DOB" and a variety of delaying letters has caused my fund to be devalued by £9,000 in only a couple of months. I am not happy at all and will be taking further action with FSA.
well abbey life the money i was paying in at the end of the year there was less. at one point £20,000 now about £6000 was told how well there performance was. well that turned out to be wrong. phoned them and they were about as helpfull as there performance. wish i had never heard of them. trying now to get my money out without to much charges. there charges to the account are high
Since Abbey are no longer selling pension schemes they have no incentive to make the funds perform very well. In fact, I would have more money if I had put the contributions under the mattress!
