FemFresh Natural Balance Cleansing Wipes
by MsTricia
I can get quite heavy discharge during the month so whilst I hate feeling icky, and sticky so I tend to use Femfresh wipes to help me feel better. I have used the tissues, but currently these wipes stay in my locker at work so should the need arise I have these to hand!
They come in a small plastic packet which is a handy size ... for carrying in a handbag. I bought this pack for £1 in poundland but have also seen them going for around £3 in Superdrug which, considering a pack has 20 wipes it doesn't really feel worth it at that price if I'm honest!
The wipes contain a pH-balanced formula to gently cleanse, freshen and deodorise, (as stated on the pack) and they are white and rather thin and small for easy wiping. They do not sting or irritate downstairs and has no strong fragrance which I prefer as I have quite sensitive skin in the beginning and was worried this would make me feel itchy. In essence, these wipes are a bit like using a cold flannel for a quick wipe but minus the extra luggage as you can dispose of these straight after!
I find these wipes are really easy to use, and leave me feeling dry, refreshed and so much cleaner. This feeling lasts for ages and so I do not constantly need to top up so a pack does last a long time. The only thing is they cannot be flushed down the loo, so be mindful to dispose of these properly!
Overall I would recommend these and have had no problems with them. For peace of mind, a fresh feeling and boost of confidence these do a good job and I will continue to use these in future. Read the complete review |

Tampax Tampons
by Chippytarka
Feminine care products are very important to modern women and a necessary evil. Nobody finds great joy or pleasure using them, but have to be done for most of us for roughly a good 40 years.
Are these readily available and are there different types?
When I was younger Tampons were only really Tampax in ... brand, but these days there are so many to choose from by different brands and even supermakets own. Very readily available. The good thing about the brand Tampax is that they have brought out different versions of the original, which is good to keep up with competition in the market, and also offer the consummer something different, such as:
Tampax Pearl - designed to be more comfortable and ' leak proof ' than the original. They come in Lite, Regular, Fresh Regular ( lightly scented ), Super, Fresh Super ( Light scented ) and Super Plus Choose depending on how heavy your flow is.
Tampax Compak - have all the same benefits as normal Tampx but half the size. Comes in different flow rates.
Tampax Cardboard Applicator - each tampon comes in a biodegradable applicator for ease of insertion. Comes in different flow rates.
What do I think of these products?
For me personally my body and its functions have changed over the years with age and with after having children. These days I flip between Tampons and sanitary towels. Purely depending on how heavy I feel, if to the point of feeling uncomfortable and may not be able to visit the bathroom as regularly as I would like, I tend to use Tampons Super with aplicator. The aplicator allows easy and comfortable insertion, and the super is very absorbant for a heavy flow.
For me I like the fact you can wear Tampons with any underwear ( you cant when wearing towels for obvious reasons! ).Its very discreet so you dont feel its obvious and if inserted properly you wont feel. Its easy to insert and take out, and all can be done very quickly and as hygenic as such an act can be! The most important things to remember is you need to wash your hand before inserting and removing and wash hands after, make sure you only use when mensturating and change when needed but do not use one for more than 8 hours.
Would I buy again?Yes,if the price was right. As mentioned the supermarkets now do their own brand, and Ive used Asdas own at a price of £1.00 for a box ( cant recall how many were in them but standard amount tends to be between 14-18 ) and found them to be very effective and worked well.So as long as the price is good, I would buy. I bought my last box at a cost of £1.88 rrp from my local chemist. It was a box of 20 Super with applicator. Prices will vary depending on the pack size, but currently Asda are selling them £2.70 per box ( 20 in each, different varieties ) or 3 for £5.00. Read the complete review |

CareFree Pantyliners
by thriftygiftyisme
CareFree Pantyliners
At the end of the time of the month when it is not heavy enough for a towel, but you need some protection, and for times when you want some added freshness, I use Carefree panty liners.
=Carefree Range=
Carefree has a wide range of panty liners, the ones that I am reviewing is laundry fresh ... design. The basis is that even though you are wearing a panty liner your skin feels like you have freshly laundered underwear on.
=Design=
The package in this is a purple plastic wrapper, which has the carefree name and the type of liner on the front of the packet, whilst on the reverse there are details of the company, the address to write to in case of complaints.
=The Liners=
The liners are designed as being breathable and are dermatological tested.
=Price and Availability=
The carefree range can be brought in many retailers such as Superdrug, Boots and supermarkets, they are available in packs of 20 and above, with pricing starting at around £1.
=Discreet=
These panty liners are extremely discreet, they can be stored in your make up bag, in your handbag, no-one needs to be none the wiser, and they are also discreet to wear.
=One Size fits all=
The panty liners are generally all one size, although you can purchase the longer length ones.
=Wearing=
At first I was a bit dubious as to whether they would stick in my underwear, be comfortable, would they move, as they do not have wings, and a stick strip down the middle of the liner, but I am pleased to say I was worried over nothing, they are comfortable, they stay put, and do the job.
The panty liners have a soft feeling to the top of the liner, and they are gentle against the skin. They fit well if you're wearing, trousers, skirts or jeans.
=Tampons=
You can use these when you're wearing a tampon if you want a bit of extra security, which I have done in the past, although I don't get on with tampons.
=Leakages=
These are not designed for heavy bleeding or a leak of you have a cough or a sneeze, they just give a general freshness and I would say a sense of security.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend the carefree range, I personally like the cotton fresh, as it feels fresh against my skin. I don't use them every day, but a box will last a couple of months.
=Disposal=
When you have finished with the liner you can use the wrapper from the next one to dispose of within a sanitary bin, or a rubbish bin. I dispose of mine within a nappy bag or a sanitary bag. Read the complete review |
