Asda Shades Moist Bathroom Tissues
by katykicker
Moisturising toilet tissues are something that I normally keep in my handbag. I have them on hand for times when I am visiting a public toilet as I often find that they either have toilet paper that is like sandpaper or no toilet paper at all.
The particular moist tissues that I have purchased recently are these Shades ... fragranced wipes. These wipes come in a blue packet with a plastic flip top lid. There is also a seal that can be opened and stuck back down again to keep these wipes clean and hygienic. Within the packet there are 40 wipes and with this packet currently costing 79p these wipes are just 2p each and very economical for times when I am on the move.
These wipes are flushable, which is very handy and hygienic of course, and the packet claims that they are biodegradable too. I sometimes use two of these at a time and I have had no problems with them flushing away at all. Now generally I am not using these particular ones in my own home but I do not want to leave a mess behind for someone else to find so these wipes do exactly what they say they will!
Now my reason for using these toilet wipes is mainly for convenience. I do not want to be in a public toilet and be caught short with no toilet paper. For a while I carried around pocket tickets with me but I found that they weren't very hygienic and sometimes the seal would open in my bag and leave them covered with dirt and dust. This was when I decided to start carrying around some toilet wipes with me. Now I carry a large handbag with me most of the time so this isn't really a problem for me but obviously they aren't as convenient as pocket tissues.
These toilet wipes are interleaved meaning when you remove one that the next one should present itself ready to use. This is ideal for me as it means that I don't have to dig around in the packet to get a wipe out. The wipes are thin but they are strong despite this and I have not had any problems with them tearing when being used. The size is reasonable and almost comfortably covers the palm of my hand. This obviously avoids any mess occurring which is another benefit of using these. The scent of these wipes is very gentle and is just a nice, clean, fresh scent without being overly scented. There is a nice texture to these wipes and they are nice and soft.
If I have the opportunity I will use toilet tissue first and then finish with one of these wipes. This helps to keep me feeling fresh all day which is ideal if I am out shopping, for lunch or just generally away from home for several hours and I want to stay feeling fresh and clean. Obviously if there is no toilet tissue available then I just use a wipe or two by itself. These wipes work very well at cleaning and freshening sensitive areas and they leave me feeling relaxed and refreshed when I am out and about. They are moist but not overly wet and this means that the area dries quickly which is good of course. They are not harsh at all and even if I use them several times a day, if I am out shopping for the day for example, they work very well and leave me feeling fresh, clean and fantastic. I am rating these wipes 5/5 stars and will definitely buy them again. Read the complete review |

Durex Play 2 in 1 Massage Gel
by MattyTM
Durex 2 in 1 massage gel is one of the less ideal products to come from the Durex range. The container states that it is basically as good a lubricant as it is a massage gel, that couldn't be further from the truth.
I like to give my wife a good few massages so this naturally caught my eye, kill two birds with one stone and ... all that. Being the thought provoking company that Durex is they naturally created the bottle in the likeness of a sex toy let's be honest and the colour pink was no doubt slapped across it to appeal to Durex's female fans. Looks a bit tacky in my opinion.
Despite the rather unimaginative design I still picked it up and took it home and proceeded to use it as a massage gel, and it's horrific. I like to buy the massage bars from Lush, warm your hands up lather it on and it'll last a good hour if done right. Feels nice as you roll your hands over your other halves skin and is a pleasure to use. The Durex gel was quite the opposite, it absorbs into the skin to quickly, and any gel that doesn't get absorbed basically coagulates, if that's possible, over your fingers and on your other halves skin. Once that happens it is neither fun giving the massage or receiving it.
Sadly much is the same for its second use, a lubricant. It dry's out very quickly, making it redundant rather quickly. It also doesn't feel right when putting it on a condom or bare skin, comes out of the tube all wrong. Basically it's a bad product.
It can be quite cheap, so that's no doubt the appeal of the product. Why buy a lush bar that could cost around £8 or spend £8 on proper massage oil from somewhere like Holland & Barrett when you can get this for £3 or so. Well that extra fiver you've saved will undoubtedly lead to your other halves libido taking a hit when you use it and as such its purpose of you enjoying your night will leave you realising pretty quickly that this Massage Gel will come up short each and every time you decide to use it.
Save your pennies, buy a lush bar or one from the Holland & Barrett range as the Durex 2 in 1 Massage Gell is bad news, end of story. Read the complete review |

Sainsbury's Non Applicator Tampons
by cornishchic
Unfortunately my daughter was quite poorly recently and we had to spend a few days in hospital. Of all times to start my period early, it had to be when we were stuck in hospital and I had no way of getting sanitary products. My mum was on her way to visit so I got her to stop off on the way and pick me up some tampons to keep me going ... until we could go home.
As there is a Sainsbury's close to the hospital, my mum stopped off there and purchased me these non applicator tampons in the super absorbency. A box containing 16 tampons will cost you just 89 pence. They are also available to purchase in regular, super, super plus and super plus extra.
The tampons come inside a purple cardboard box, I originally thought mum had got it wrong and purchased the tampons for light flows as with Tampax tampons, purple indicates light and green indicates super, but on further inspection I realised she was right and they were for super absorbencies. Inside the box are 16 individually wrapped tampons.
** WARNING - COULD BE QUITE GRAPHIC **
I was a little put off to begin with as I don't really like using non applicator tampons but as I didn't have any choice I just had to get on and use them. Each tampon is wrapped in a transparent plastic wrapper that is easy to twist off to get the tampon out. To insert it you use a finger to simply push it inside your vagina until it is fully inserted. This is the bit that's never really appealed to me, I don't want to push my finger into my vagina when it's my time of the month as it doesn't seem like the cleanest of tasks. However, it wasn't as messy as I imagined it to be and after washing my hands afterwards, wasn't that worried about using non applicator tampons.
The tampons should be changed every 4-8 hours, any longer than this and there is a risk of TSS. I found that although these have a super absorbency, I had to change them more often than I would have had to if I was using different brands such as Tampax. I think the super plus would have been more in line with my monthly flow. The string is easy to pull when you have to take it out and I haven't experienced any problems with removing it.
I don't think I'll purchase these tampons again purely on the fact that they don't have an applicator. I'd rather use an applicator as it makes for a more hygienic experience. The price is good for the amount of tampons you get and if you don't mind non applicator tampons I would definitely recommend them. Read the complete review |
