Pop-Ins Sanitary Disposal Bags
by thehonesttruth As a lady, when Aunt Flo comes to visit, there are certain items I like to dispose of discretely. At home this isn't a problem, as I have a bin next to the loo. And, in most public conveniences there are bins in cubicle to allow for discreet disposal. But when visiting friends, or using a convenience without a bin, sometimes there isn't ... anywhere to dispose of personal items, but the last thing I want to do is leave them behind visibly in a friends bin, or risk blocking their toilet by attempting to flush. So, I always carry a couple of disposal bags with me. I used to just use cheap nappy bags to wrap up the offending items, but having seen these on sale in my local Tesco, have actually switched to using these every time. These cost 90p a pack of 50, which is very cheap , and are actually very attractively packaged. In fact, nothing about the pack screams 'red alert', and I wouldn't be embarrassed to leave the box on my toilet cistern - which is exactly where I do leave it. The box is very like that you'll find facial tissues in, with an oval that pops out to make an opening, through which the bags can be pulled out. The bags themselves are 160mm by 250mm and lilac in colour. The plastic they are made from is quite thin, but feels very substantial - there is no change this bag would accidentally split at all. The lilac colour is quite attractive, not too dark but certainly up to the job of disguising the contents - you can't see through the plastic at all. The bags are a good size to hold tampons and used applicators, or even the thicker kinds of sanitary towels, and have handles that tie securely closed. The bags are lightly fragranced, with a sort of powdery smell which is quite pleasant. I've kept (unused) bags in a pocket of my handbag for weeks and still found the smell lasts. Once my items are securely wrapped, I can leave the bag in the bin if there is one, or , in case of emergency, slip it into my handbag for disposal of in the nearest waste receptacle. The longest I've had a used bag in my handbag is an hour, and thankfully there was no snagging or damage to the bag at all. I think these bags are great for allowing the disposal of personal waste, hygienically and discreetly. They get five stars for that, though if I could I'd give them six - just for the amusing warning on the box not to use these to carry your sandwiches in! Read the complete review |

Pop-Ins Sanitary Disposal Bags
by thriftygiftyisme =Pop-Ins Sanitary Disposal Bags= I appreciate that in most public ladies toilets they have the Sanitary wear disposal units, but at home, they need to be disposed of, about 30 years ago it was just rip up and flush down the toilet but how things have changed. Especially when we had the misfortune of a blocked drain caused ... by a Sanitary towel. =Myself= I always use towels, and tend to stick to the always brand, as I find them a good towel but also you can wrap up the used towel in the new one's wrapper and dispose of that way. Even though I like to pop them in a bag before disposing of in a bin. I did use to use nappy sacks, but on a visit to Tesco, I found these Pop-Ins Sanitary disposal Bags, they were in the feminine hygiene section of the store, at first I thought they had put they had put tissues in the wrong place, but upon closer inspection, they were smaller than a tissue box in size, they have a purple and white flower on it. On the side of the box it says that the bags are fragranced to mask any odours. =Price= These are priced at 90p for a box, and you get 100 in the box. =To Use= You open the box the same way as you do tissues, with a centre opening on the top of the box, and inside are purple coloured bags. The bags measure 16cm x 25cm, they are thicker than a nappy sack, but have similar tie handles. Once you have finished your product, you pop in the bag, knot and this can be disposed of in the bin. At home, I have a small bin in the bathroom, which gets emptied daily, when its time of the month, there seems to be a pleasant flower smell in the bin, =Would I purchase again= I would purchase these again, in fact I have brought a couple of boxes ready for my daughter, so she won't be embarrassed at the disposal factor. =Overall= There a good product, I always keep a couple in my handbag, as I have used for disposable tissues and have used them for a doggy do bag, so a bag with plenty of uses Read the complete review |

Pop-Ins Sanitary Disposal Bags
by taramorg23 Last week I had to have a colopscopy following an abnormal smear test. As a result of this the consultant decided to offer me treatment there and then. The downside of the treatment is you can bleed and have discharge for a few weeks afterwards. I haven't used sanitary towels in years but after the procedure you can't use tampons for 4 ... weeks because of the risk of infection. I have been using Always pads which rolll up neatly in their wrapper but I still prefer to pop them in a bag before binning them. I was using my daughters nappy sacks which were too big for this purpose and I had to keep remembering to get one from her room every time I popped to the loo. It was only yesterday during a shopping trip to Tesco I found these for just 90p they are situated next to the other feminine hygiene products. The box is like a small tissue box and has a large purple and white flower on it. Discreetly in the corner is the word 'pop ins'. You open the box in the same way as a tissue box. Inside you can then see the bright purple bags. I was a bit bemeused by the colour but after reading the back of the packet it is apparently to conceal the contents. The bottom of the box also states that they feature tie handles to secure the contents hygienically. The box also says that the bags are fragranced to mask odours. The bags are 160mm x 250mm. When I pulled one out of the bag I was pleased at the size, they are just smaller versions of nappy bags. The fragrance is pleasant it is floral but not too overpowering. I was also suprised at the quality of the bags they were thicker than most nappy bags and beacause of the deep purple colour you could just make out the green wrapper I placed inside. The handles were simple to tie and I then disposed of the bag in my bathroom bin. Overall I was suprised with the quality of these bags. You get 100 bags in a box which means you wouldn't need to buy them too often. They also look attractive on the bathroom shelf without screaming put what they are. I empty my bin every day or so and I am pleased to say I haven't noticed any nasty smells. I will definately purchase these again should the need to. 5 out of 5 from me. Read the complete review |
