Advantages: Cheap and effective
Disadvantages: These are not so maxi
When it comes to sanitary products for that 'time of the month' I always find it really to find good quality but reasonably priced sanitary towels. Personally I use both tampons or sanitary towels and whilst I find tampons cleaner and easier to dispose of I find towels a damn site easier to use and certainly prefer to use them at night lol.
So like I say I like em cheap and cheerful but of course quality is of the upmost importance in this area eh ladies?! Nothing worse than the squelching or seeping after-all! lol (Sorry guys!)
I shop is Asda rather often so I picked up these and for 24 of the in a pack priced at 88p that seemed cheap enough to me! (Currently on offer as well at any 4 packs from the Asda 'Freestyle' range for £3.00).
The Packaging:
Well the towels come in a large square shaped bright green plastic packet which is easy to tear into. On the front and on the back I'm told that they are Asda Freestyle 'Maxi' 24 Regular Non-Winged Towels and that they contain odour control and an anti-leak curve protection and that they are shaped for comfort and are cotton soft and I am promised that they are as absorbent as the leading brand. Other information down the sides of the pack tells me a bit about other towels available from the Asda Freestyle range, I'm told a bit about the product, I'm told how to use them and dispose of them after use and contact details for Asda are given. Nice enough bright packet which gives enough information on it and doesn't look as cheap as it is!
A Bit About The Product According To The Pack:
Freestyle Maxi Towels have a cotton soft cover which draws everything into the towel. The towel is shaped to your body and the side channels protect against leakage throughout the day.
The odour control pearls inside give you added discretion when you need it.
The Towels:
The towel itself is white in colour, with a slight curve to the middle of it, not very thick (but quite wide) and covered with like a perforated type of cotton fabric to the top of it covering a smooth cotton wool layer and the base is a white thin plastic. There is an engraved in curved section to the middle of the towel which is the shape of the towel which I guess are the 'channels' which are meant to help draw away liquid into the towel better for that all important added protection.
There is a long sticky label to the flat smooth base of the towel and of course you simply press the towel gently onto your underwear and the job is done till you need to replace it.
Are They any good Though?:
Maxi? How come? I'd say if you buy regular towels usually then you should buy these maxi one's. If you have heavy flow and do need maxi usually then although these are ok you may wish to try a more substantial towel.
They are comfortable to wear and not one bit bulky. They do draw away liquid from the body and lock it away so yes they are absorbent. Odour control? Well yes I suppose so but then if you change your pads regular you don't notice that sort of thing really anyway!
These are a decent towel if you know your absorbency and then buy the next one up from this range so you get the correct towels for your needs. I find them comfortable and clean to wear and although these don't have 'wings' (cos I hate those as they never stay put!) these do stay put very well and I find I can even wear these at night with no issues at all if I want to. They don't shred and they don't leak and I find these a rather good economical sanitary product but as good as leading brands? Yes if you work out that the absorbencies advised on the packets are all wrong and get clever at choosing what's right for you lol.
Only available in Asda stores and do look out for them on offer which more often than not they are!
Summary: A good economical towel!
