Advantages: Easy to use, work well
Disadvantages: You need to get the absorbency right
When it comes to tampons and sanitary products I'm incredibly fussy as to what I buy and I tend to stick to my usual one's. I'm a creature of habit in this department and usually stick to Tampax for tampons or Kotex for towels. However when I went to Sainsbury's to do my monthly stock up on these such products I was horrified to see that my Kotex option wasn't there! I had no choice but to go for another option and so I opted for these after about half an hour of trying to decide lol.
The Packaging:
Lime green squarish packet and on the front I'm told they are Bodyform 'Super' 14 (in this case) Ultra Towels and there is a diagramn of the towel and I'm told it shapes to your body. Other information on the packet tells me about other towels and absorbency's in the range, I'm told a bit about the product in general, and again there is a diagramn of the towel and information about it given and contact details for SCA Hygiene Products (the manufacturer of Bodyform products) are listed. The towel comes in a white plastic easy to unfold packet and there is a light green strip of colour to one side and I'm told it is Secure Fit. All round it's ok packaging and informative enough.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Packet:
The better the fit the more secure you feel. Only Bodyform towels have new SecureFit technology with a unique shape designed to fit your body perfectly. The towel moves with your body and stays in place for ultimate anti-leak security.
Using Them:
Well like I said the outer packet around the towel unfolds with ease and is stuck slightly to it. Appearance wise the pad is white, thin and rather wide. So.... the pad itself is obviously made of some sort of soft cotton wool and covered by a light cotton type of covering. The middle of the towel has a sort of ingrained pattern and ridges about half an inch in from the free edge and this is known as the absorption zone and is designed to capture and absorb liquid more effectively.
So once pulled off the packet it is mainly sticky on the back and of course you gently apply it to your underwear. Once in place, yes it stays in place till you want to remove it and when that time comes it's incredibly easy to remove indeed. I was impressed with the way it felt really secure. It never moved and it moulded itself to my body so I could forget it was there and get on with my life.
Does It Work?:
Yes they are great but being called a super pad I think is a bit much really. I don't mean to be revolting but I don't suffer heavy periods and did find that these pads needed changing more frequently that my Kotex regular one's. However aside from having to change them more regular they won points on being comfortable and being mega absorbant, taking liquid and keeping it away from me!
I would buy these again but I do think you need with these to go up a level in absorption. So if you usually use light ones, go for a regular, if you go for regular pads normally go up a step. They are thin so even super towels don't feel thick and heavy. They are nice and wide, soft and work! I will buy them again but only if my favoured Kotex are not available!
Available in all good chemists and supermarkets and cost around £1.39 a pack but do look out for offers!
Summary: Decent, comfortable towels!
