~ What is it? ~
Liquid Silk is water based lubricant that is ideal for intimate massage, foreplay and intercourse.
~ Price & Availability ~
I bought this from Lovehoney - www.lovehoney.co.uk.
It is available in -
* 10ml sachet - 0.99p
* 50ml bottle - £3.99
* 250ml pump action bottle - £9.99
~ Packaging ~
I bought this in the largest 250ml size so I got a pump action bottle. You get a clear plastic rounded bottle, there is a screw top lid which has the pump action lever on the top. The writing on the bottle is in a simple black print which gives it a nice neat finish. There's nothing particularly fancy about it but I quite like the simplicity of it.
The bottle is clear which allows me to see the creamy white liquid through the bottle. I like this as it is easy to see just how much product is left in the bottle.
~ Using it ~
This is a water based lubricant so it makes it ideal for use when having intercourse as it will not cause any deteration to condoms. It can also be used for foreplay, anal sex, sex toys and a nice sensual massage as the lubricant is also quite moisturising to the skin.
It is has no real noticable scent that I can pick up on.
The pump action dispenser makes using this easy and a little goes a long way so I would recommend using a half pump of the dispenser at first and if you feel you need more then you can simply pump out a little more.
I also like that it doesn't dry out or go tacky like some lubes do.
~ My Thoughts ~
Trying to review sexual products in a tasteful way can actually be quite difficult to do. I know that people don't want to read the in's and out's of my sex life and neither do I want to tell everyone but for this review a bit of detail is of course needed!
Over the years my hubby and I have tried a few different lubricants simply because a new one will catch our eye when we are looking and that is how I came to buy this one.
Searching www.lovehoney.co.uk for anything is easy, but to lubicants hover over ' The Essentials ' tab and click the ' Lubricants ' link which comes up as the first one. From here click the ' Water-Based Lubes ' tab on the left hand side of the page, once this is done I find that Liquid Silk comes up as the second product. If you want to go straight for Liquid Silk without having to browse you can simply type it in to the search bar located in the middle of the page at the top.
We mainly use lubes for foreplay and this was no different. Pumping out a full squirt we realised that it was a bit too much so we split it between us ... Waste not, want not! The initial consistancy was quite thick and to be quite honest it did resemble seamen! However as soon as you start using it it thins out to the perfect consistancy and is brilliant to use. I found that whilst it offers no warming or cooling qualities it does heighten the sensations and I found I climaxed quite soon. I have also given my hubby oral sex when this has been on him and the taste was okay, it was a sweet taste but nothing offensive.
Overall I have to say we have both enjoyed using this and as it is water-based it hasn't caused any ill effects to the condoms we use ( as my hubby is too much a wimp to go for that vasectomy he promised he would have!!!).
It's also long lasting and doesn't suddenly dry up and spoil the moment.
This is something I would recommend and I would definately buy it again in the future, however I don't think it will be for a while yet as a little goes a long way and after four months use on a every other day basis we have about three quarters of the bottle left.
Thanks for reading :o) x
***THIS REVIEW CONTAINS ADULT CONTENT***
This is a review of lubricant liquid silk. This was purchased from lovehoney.com, although I have also purchased through various other sex toy stores online and through eBay for between £7.00 and £9.99. This is my absolute favourite, and will now not buy any other!
The lube comes in a handy clear pump container, making it easy and less messy than a tube to access when needed (no lids to unscrew / tubes to squeeze) The packaging isn't the most attractive, clear with bold black writing on, but for the price and the quality, this doesn't bother me ( it's not something I keep out on my bedside table etc.) The fact that the container is clear means you know how much you have got less - there's nothing worse than realising you are out of lube at that special moment! The 250ml bottle lasts ages, I find mine lasts about 3 months or so, say if the lube was used once or twice a week!
The lube is moderately thick, but does not dry out! I find that upon application it keeps the mood going for ages, which is great as other lubes on the market I have tried, such as durex play do tend to dry out more quickly - great for anal sex, a great gift for all those anal first timers out there. I must mention that unlike other lubes on the market, this is not a clear lube, but in fact a whitish colour, not unlike semen! (I have been told by a friend in the industry that this has been in fact used as fake jizz in one or two shoots she has been in!) This product is also water based, meaning it is safe to use with condoms, latex clothing and silicone based sex toys.
I would highly recommend this product to a friend, in my opinion it's the number 1 lube on the market!
This is the only lubricant I have ever used and I have never felt the need to branch out and try and different brand, so that should give you an idea of how good it actually is.
I usually buy mine from lovehoney.co.uk, which is my favourite shop for all my sex toys and accessories etc. It normally costs around £3.99 for a 50ml bottle (which is quite small) or £9.99 for a 250ml bottle.
The 50ml comes in a tiny squeezy bottle whereas the bigger bottle comes with a push down dispenser o the top (as shown in the picture above).
I find the bigger bottle to be a lot better than the smaller one, you have to grip the smaller bottle to squeeze some out, and if your in the middle of playing and already have some smeared on your hands it can be quite difficult to squeeze more out and you end up getting it all over the bottle and can be a bit messy. Whereas the push down dispenser is a lot easier to use and not so messy.
The lube itself doesnt smell of anything, or taste of anything other than water. Its mainly water based and doesnt feel sticky or tacky on your skin. A little really does go a long way too, you dont need much to get a nice lubrication going on, and it lasts a while and doesnt dry out quickly. It is also meant to be a great softening conditioner for your skin - this I cant comment on as I have never really hand rough skin in the areas that I use this!
Overall this is a great lubricant and I am yet to find a fault with it. I would definitely recommend it!
As a curious teenager I used to read about the different types of lubrication that you could purchase, and as soon as it got to the point where I was ready to buy the stuff, I was immediately disappointed by the likes of KY jelly and other cheap lubricants from Boots and Superdrug.
I came across Liquid Silk through free samples. The difference is simply amazing, and whilst I cannot recommend it highly enough, you really have to try it to understand fully.
Most importantly, it is water based making it compatible with condoms and other contraceptive aids.
I bought my 250ml pump action bottle from a shop for £10. Whilst it sounds expensive, a little goes a long way, and the shelf life is on average at least 4 years from the date of purchase, so even if you are an occasional user, it will last - call it an investment!!
The lubricant is light and easy to apply. White, creamy, light, luxurious and non tacky. Doesn't get better than that.
Speaking as a male, it works great when used solo as well as with a male or female partner, and dare I say it in groups! Doesn't get any better than this....
Liquid Silk is primarily a lubricant used by people in their sex lives. It is far better than most lubricants you can get in shops such as Superdrug and although more expensive is worth every penny.
At www.lovehoney.co.uk (where I order mine) a 250ml pump action (no pun intended!) bottle will cost you £9.99 with free delivery. Compared to something like KY for instance this seems expensive but Liquid Silk goes much further. It is slightly creamy in texture, non-tacky and water-based. (because of this it is completely safe to use with contraception such as condoms). It is also made for women who are sensitive in their lower regions so should not cause allergy problems. I am also told it's popular amongst gay men (I don't know as I'm female!).
The added bonus with this lubricant is it also makes a great massage lotion. It evaporates in the skin pretty quickly so if you wish to give your partner a massage as foreplay there is no fear of condoms being affected by oily hands or bodies etc. It also tastes pretty neutral so shouldn't errrr well I'm sure you get the gist...
The only downside is the more expensive price, but hey isn't he or she worth it?
I definitely recommend this product and have been using it for several years.
Bodywise Liquid Silk differs from lubricants like KY Jelly or various other own brand lubricants in that it does not proclaim to be for medical use it's purely to be used to improve your sex life(which it does a very good job at).
I first came in to contact (no pun intended) with Bodywise Liquid Silk when I received it as part of an order from an online sex shop.
The packaging is a simple bottle with a very handy pump top a sort of no frills bottle, but you don't buy it for the bottle you buy it for it's contents.
Bodywise Liquid Silk is a water based so it is condom safe, it dosen't really smell or taste! of anything.
And here is how it Allows Me to break the Taboos that surround women and sex.
So having received my order, I could not wait to have a play and see how good Bodywise Liquid Silk is, I very quickly found that a little goes a very long way and all I needed was half a pumps worth to last a session with my new toy.
I have also found Bodywise Liquid Silk to be very useful during my period, sometimes during my period I do feel rather Horny and again only a small amount is required.
And when I'm not ON my boyfriend loves us using it during foreplay, he loves me masturbating him with a handfull of it, and as sex is a two way street I get him to return the favour but he tends to get carried away and use far too much and I normally end up with more of it in and around my anus than in my vagina (that's men for you).
And as for using it during sex we both love it as long as too much hasn't been applied just a small amount to his penis is usually enough unless we are having a**l sex then plenty is required.
As far as oral sex goes Bodywise Liquid Silk does not have any real taste to it but I would recommend removing as much as possible before you start.
So as you can see Bodywise Liquid Silk really does impove my (and maybe your) Sex life
Most women,(and some men) at some point in their lives will require a little 'oiling up' during sex. This could be for any number of reasons, such as time of the month, having recently given birth(obviusly not the men!) or just not being naturally moist.
Now, the best and most enjoyable way to get lubricated is, of course, cunnilingus. But sometimes you just don't have time, or perhaps your partner is not feeling perticularly obliging.
The great news is, if you're a bit dry, you don't just have to get on with it and put up with the friction burns! Hell no! There are products easily and cheaply available that can make you as moist as a builders armpit on a summers day in a matter of seconds.
Bodywise liquid silk is a lubricant I've used a number of times. It's available for two or three quid in any reputable sex shop, and in some of the more disreputable ones as well. It's also available free from many family planning or sexual health clinics, and from some bars and clubs in large cities, particularly in 'gay' bars.
(And may I take this opportunity to thank the AD2 in Nottingham for making sure the only thing I'm parting with is my innocence, and not my money!)
You can get in two forms, either in alarge tube, or in little sachets. I tend to use the sachets, simply because they're free and I'm cheap. Not in THAT way you understand.Well, on second thoughts...
Anyway, we're not here to talk about me, cheap or otherwise, but the lube, so back to the topic in hand.
The sachets are predominantly white, and made of a tearable paper foil, which is easy to tear open.(May I say at this point i do not recommend opening with your teeth, not because it tastes bad, but because it can leave you looking like the money shot in a tacky porn movie.)
Bodywise liquid silk is written across the pack in black letters, along with a brief indication of how to use it.Not the most inspiring of packages, but if youre using this then no doubt you have something much more interesting to gaze upon already.
When you open the sachet and squeeze out the lubricant, the overall texture is quite thin, and it feels like water, not at all oily or sticky. There's no real smell from it, and it tastes of nothing so much as water. Also worth noting is that alhough it can be quite messy, t dries quickly on fabrics etc and does not stain at all.
I'm sure you all know how to use it. Just slather it on your dry bits, and you're good to go.
During usage it keeps the area nicely moist without it being sopping wet, and stays moist for a good long period of time.It didn't cause any kind of skin irritation on me at all.It can be used for either front or rear penetration, or during foreplay as an aid to masturbation.
This lubricant is water based so is perfectly safe to use with condoms. However, it's non-spermicidal so does not in any way protect against ankle biters, nor does it offer any protection against STDS, so your best bet is to use a condom as well for an all round healthy sexual experience.
All in all, a good basic lubricant , although a little on the messy side, for which I deduct one point.
Thanks for reading.
